Wow thanks guy. Looks like what my friend told me is true. Incredible hulk keeps value well. Think i die die oso hoot one. Dont think i will flip but in case i want to sell can get back monies not so wasted. I also heard that submariner goes well with all kind of outfit. Work or casual. Just unsure to get a new one or a preowned.

Go try out the watch first la......

Hi bro im only looking at rollie. I already had a jap watch not interested in seiko.

My fren told me rollie is the only watch to consider as it keeps its value very well. So anytime can sell back without much loss so im not worried.

Just want to gauge roughly the cost and resale value of a submariner. Appreciate your advice.

if your life style requires U to sell a rollie for emergency don't buy the rolex! use your Jap watch, what is the point of getting a Rolex? Just Hao liao?

yes U wouldn't lose much or so it seem...
when U try to sell on forum it gets more $$ but take awhile... but emergency U go 2nd dealer or pawn shop and those places expect to lose 50%. These businesses need to feed employee and the rental not to mention our gov in the form of tax. They have to milk from the desperate

Buy the seller ?:s11:

Thanks for advice, so preowned will lose less and keep 5 years lose lesser. By the way my fren told me, there are only 2 options if i want to buy watch. Either save up monies to buy rollie, or dont buy watch at all. :s22:

True that Rolex demand is rather healthy in the resale market...

For keeping value, there exist many other safe queens such as stocks, gold bars, saving bonds, wine, property that may function better at value retention (or even growth) compared to a watch..

As bros here put it, buy it only if you really love the watch. Otherwise, better to look elsewhere for purely "value retention".

Stocks and wine as safe queen!!
Desperate for $$ can sell stocks but today market can hurt a darn lot!
High market great when one is desperate. Desperate due to bad market stay away from stocks.

Wine not easy, not kept well in sg humid climate they go bye bye, pawn shop would take it.
Need to get rid of it during desperate times again will hurt.

Gold traditionally best. Now buy palladium pretty low.

Yar i agree with u. Thank u for your kind advice. But buying gold bar can only keep in safe deposit box cant see cant touch cant show everyday, and i heard gold also may drop and never rise again and kilobar not cheap. If can afford gold bar i wont be scratching my head over rolex which is a cheaper investment?

Yes at least for now i do like the rollie. Quite a few aspects. Been thinking for some time just not sure should i spend such monies. But if resale value is healthy i think no harm going for it since i can sell at minimal loss if i dont like it? My fren also told me a few of his frens often flip watches & dont lose a lot monies.

Thank u for your advice. I will remember not to get desperate before selling the rollie. Most likely i can keep for a few years i think. Keeping my job shouldnt be a problem just that if suddenly i have extra family commitments i may be forced to sell. But ofcos wont be near term. Likely i will turn to 2nd dealer when need to. 50% loss? Thats something to consider. Thks.

He found a carrot? If wear 5 yrs sell to me tell me no service I wouldn't pay high price, but lots of carrot around.

Buy used and sell after few years can tricked you thinking you earn $500. But if you walk into 2nd shop and sell them back no chance you can earn money. How much is their rent? Statistics there is a term called outlier. My friend tell me college drop out become millionaires too. Gates and jobs are fine example. In China you can find a lot of millionaire didn't even step into college to qualify to be a dropout. No need to stay hard also rich

Heard of inflation? Heard of price increase?
