lets just stick back to the original intent of the thread. sharing and learning of the horology and watches.

since it is a hobby that some people (including me) get into, the way we spent our money for the piece of metal that resides on our wrist definitely has different meaning from others that does not appreciate it.

if I am sincerely worrying about my future or ways to make better use of my funds, I would be hanging around the money mind forum and not in this thread already. :s22::s22:

peace! :s13::s13:

To paraphrase a political comment, THE WATCH HOBBY IS:

OWNSELF POISON OWNSELF !!!

:s13:

:s12:

Well, that's certainly true for me! :D

haha tt dai kor, value is subjective and measured by own needs and wants :)

Like for me, 3 to 4 watches is more than enough. Not enough wrist time.

Some will be like 50 watches also not enough :)

I see it as a hobby and hobby needs to spend and need to control also lah

Well said, bro soilwork!

btw, I'm no dai kor lah. I'm the sai loh or sio di niah! :)

Bro chickenbackside, since your PP Nautilus is your current fav daily beater, which presumably get the most wrist time at least for now, which bracelet watch do you intend to be protected by that case?
Actually, it will be for the Nautilus!

I will wear it on the plane, but since the flight will take 18 hours, I will take it off after I settle into the flight. During this time, I don't wish to have it flopping around in my bag.

I like to have my bag below my seat so that I can access my stuff during the journey. And I know after a while, I will forget that I have an expensive watch inside and step on it or chuck it around. Having a case for the watch will prevent potential damage.

I will only take it out and wear it once I've loaded my luggage into my rental car.

Actually another element IMO - The blue accents of the OT500 really appeals to me. In my own interpretation, the OT500 represents a harmony of man-made tech (finely-crafted titanium diver watch) and the world's most dominant natural element, water. OT500 - Truly an element of the ocean/sea.

Of course, need to re-iterate again, DAT LUME (that fits so perfectly with the blue accents)! :lick:

How about some Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Sapphire Bezel Lume goodness?

I'm a sucker for the vintage color scheme, meaning black dial, preferably matte, with brown markers :(

Excellent! If vintage is your thing (uncle here, being "vintage" of course like vintage lah!), you can apprentice under our resident guru on cool vintage collectable classics ... Bro pwillie dai kor dai! :s12:

Well I can say something like "get a replica" cos with the money spent on a better quality of life, people around you will believe that you indeed can afford that "Rolex".

The real issues among WIS are:

1. We know in our hearts that it's a fake, and as people of integrity, authenticity matters.

2. We own & wear watches to please ourselves, not to impress others.

3. The money spent on a fake is better off spent on authentic, respectable watch whose quality is better than that fake.

At the end of the day, look at a drawer full of fakes and ask: is the thousands spent worth the money, especially if you've been caught out wearing one?

TT uncle seem to misunderstood my post. I have never said to buy a fake.

What I meant by spending 11k is like spending 110, is that one can be so rich until spending 11k is like how we feel when we only spend 110 (feels like only a small pinch)
