went last week to jlc boutique to try out several reversos

shortlisted these 2

1) reverso classique

2) reverso grand tallie

A qn about rectangular watches,

i tried on the grand tallie,due to the design of the case, the lugs seem to stick out of the wrist especially when i bend my wrist. Would this be considered too big?

i also tried on the reverso classique. This model is considerably cheaper with a lack of seconds hand and its alot smaller. Lugs dont hang out like the grand tallie

My qn is for rectangular watches , am i better off buying a smaller model or a bigger model with lugs slightly handing out at certain positions?

I am too used to medium/large sized watches, the smaller reverso classique seems to look small but in front of a full mirror, it looks ok.

I like the Reverso Grande Ultra thin, but that size is even bigger than Grande Taille...
For dress watch i think smaller size is ok.
I'm surprised if you can handle the IWC, the JLC lugs will overhang

reason being for somebody who is used to bigger watches, smaller watches wont gain much of ur wrist time unless u rly rly rly love it.

If there is any hint of overhang, it is too big. A person who buys JLC are the refined, classy type who appreciates understated looks. Wearing a reverso that is too big for your wrist would b a massive disaster. Its one thing to wear an oversized Panerai when its too big, when its a JLC, it will tell your friends whom are watch collectors you have no clue...

yup didnt managed to take a wrist shot..

will do when i go take another look.

but its clear the classique and grand tallie are the 2 that is within my budget and matches my wrist size the most.

the classique is on the small side but it fits my wrist with no lugs overhang.

the grand tallie however is bigger but the lugs does seems to stick out a little.

the closest e.g i can find is this pic of another model

note the lugs stick out of the wrist at a angle..

however for rectangular watches, its better to own a smaller undersized watch than a oversized one?
