After seeing some ads at the train station and somebody posted a pic of this, I decided to check it out. Very nice indeed but it's too expensive for a Seiko5.

Massdrop currently has the Davosa Ternos, and the Travisleon Heirloom watches.

The Davos Ternos is a Rolex Sub homage available in a variety of colors. The black one looks to be DLC coating but I'm not too sure. Price is decent but nothing outstanding especially when I compared it to Steinhart's offering.

The Travisleon Heirloom is a great looking dress watch by 2 local guys. Knew one of them personally and they also have a "smart" watch on Kickstarter right now called Boldr watch. The watch seems valued for your money with a Miyota 9015 movement.

No financial interest, just sharing some watch hoot info since i'm always tracking Massdrop.

Having owned a SARB035 for roughly a month, went to check out Orient Bambino. Honestly I was not too impressed with non-hacking and non-handwinding, even though I mentioned to TeenTitan that I would likely not be too particular about it... It's still a nice watch though. Wish the leather strap can be slightly softer and add a see-through back... But nice lah for the price tag.

Bitten by watch bug, now fuelling next purchase.

1. It better have lume, that can last overnight, like 5 hours or more.
2. See through back, I find it enticing to watch the watch (pun intended)
3. 40mm or larger watch face
4. Screw in crown, so waterproof too. Perhaps 200m?
5. Perpetual calendar, since this can be quite useful, but I only experience its usefulness 12 times a year.
6. Don't need world time, GPS, bluetooth, or solar...
7. But solar seems cool but it doesnt seem to be popular...
8. Bracelet or leather strap or NATO doesnt matter right? Since can be changed anytime.
9. Not a Seiko, since I have one, looking other brands if possible. Guess, Citizen, Fossil, Steinhart, etc
10. Less than SGD500?

Any recommendation?

Wah me not that pro... but from what I've seen so far, good lume + perpetual calendar seldom go hand-in-hand, cuz the latter is usually found in dress watches; so the WR rating won't be as high as 200m. Maybe 50m to 100m...

Less than $500 for a perpetual calendar (non-Seiko)... me not sure where to get.

I know it looks big but I still like the feel of the watch. It doesn't weigh as much as my Steinhart though.

I'm actually very happy with my purchase, though I wish the strap can be of better quality.

The movement is lovely!!!

Don't worry about the strap... You can always get good quality 3rd party watch straps...

It's one HUGE WATCH
