Measure the end where you put the clasp. Usually is tapered from top down.

Ermm ever since Fossil group started STP ,some "fashion watches" have a swiss made movement embedded now. Can we consider them 50% serious?

For fossil brand itself, they have quite a few attractive model, though it's quite a mixed up as well. Some are swiss made quartz, some are miyota movement, some are chinese movement and some are STP, their " inhouse " :o

Then again, i'm unsure how serviceable are the watches

for that segment, there's always the sea-dweller. :) some even prefers the SD for its full minute markings around the bezel!

for some, that's a deal breaker and is not keen of the added thickness. they even go to the extent of removing the date magnifier from the sub! :eek:

nevertheless, the date cyclops is emblematic of rolex for most people, making it easy to spot from a distance, including me when i first started out on watches.

however, some feel that the date magnifier distort the hands display when they glide past under the cyclops. some prefer dial symmetry and a simple 3-hander.

eventually, taste & aethetics evolves. but ultimately one cultivate his choice and arrives at a balance of what pleases him and justifies it given the limited choices available.

why is the newer omega speedmaster professional still accorded the prestige when:

1. it was the original cal 321 speedmaster (there was no "professional" then) that passed nasa's flight tests and actually (allegedly) went to the moon (google "moon hoax conspiracy") instead of the newer cal 861/1861.

2. what? only 50m water resistance AND NO HACKING SECONDS? what gives?

/rant over. :D
