Ah yes many had this SIM try stuck problem. We checked with them and noticed some of the issues were caused by inserting a SIM adapter without a SIM in it. We do note that it might be the SIM adapter issue and we're looking into it now.

We're really out of stock at the moment - There were a few cases of users forcing the stuck SIM tray out and the contact pins got damaged in the process, and hence we had almost 10 cases of stuck SIMs which needed hardware replacement. Much apologies for the inconvenience and we seek your kind understand on this.

We would like your contact details to work with you on this. Can you PM us (through Facebook)?

I really dun undead fan for my case since I did not force to remove the tray and damage the board , why can't they dismantle the set and remove the tray ????

Why is there a need to replace the board ?????

Developer's option

Turn on: show rounded corners

change all transition animations to 0.5 sec

Just because of a few stuck nano SIMs? Seriously?

The Redmi's are perfectly fine; lots have been using them without issues.

The Mi3 is fine too; there is the issue of a third-party micro-sim adapter that they provided which appears slightly too thick, hence some of them got stuck. Perhaps some used a nano-sim adapter which increased the overall thickness, thus getting it even more stuck.

Well feel free to stay away if you wish; all I can tell you is that I am a very happy Redmi user and would highly recommend it.

The Mi3 is a different ball game because it is more expensive; if however you are looking for a high end phone, it's worth considering. I don't have one myself so personally I cannot say more than that.

I have met at least one happy Mi3 user in person; as far as I know he's rather pleased with the phone, no complaints so far.

I'm also happy with both my Mi3 and Redmi. No problems at all... except the RedMi doesn't have backlight on the buttons. Maybe to save cost...

Stuck Sim cards are usually the user's fault. You either insert an empty sim adaptor or you didn't put your micro sim in the adaptor properly and just simply slot it in. And then the pins that connect the sim card get caught on the adaptor's slot and there you have a stuck sim...

It's really straightforward to fix. I had to do it once on my old nexus S when I tried to put my micro sim with an adaptor in.

Just get a piece of plastic that is tough and slim enough and slip it under the sim adaptor. this will push the pins down and allow you to slide out the sim card.

I'm particularly drawn to either redmi or mi3.

Would like to ask regarding the lag ness and battery life of both phones. Main usage includes constant whatsapp, hardware zone , surf net.

No other purpose. Oh yes, and except occasional shots (say 5 shots per month)?

Whatsapp is a small light application that works on any basic android phone. Hardwarezone is just a forum; again no great processing power needed. Surf net, depends whether your pages tend to be heavy with lots of photos and videos. Even then, the Redmi should suffice.

The Redmi will work well for all your needs, it will hardly lag; battery life is great too. I only use about 30% of my battery a day, but then I am a fairly light user, though I do have two SIM cards in. But I only use 2G, and never use data.

I haven't used the Mi3 so can't comment.

Have yet to come across lag on the Mi3, battery life been alright (not playing any games on it) Whatsapp and Facebook works fast and good, surfing the net too (Base browser is surprisingly good)

Had taken some pictures and the multi shot was very fast didn't notice i even took them earlier when testing the camera :D

Thanks for the swift feedback. You guys are great.

In fact I have been expose to xiaomi since the 2s generation. However there just wasn't any easy way to get it, nor is it worth taking risk with them while leaving me expose (no warranty).
I look forward to hearing more tricks, opinions and reviews from you guys while I go get one.

Hmm think cos Mi3 back cover cant be easily removed. And I guess they dun have stock for 1 to 1 too.

I feel for you bro. Know how much it feels to wait for it to arrive and yet you cant use it..

Nonetheless Xiaomi customer svc is considered quite an improvement over Samsung, Apple, Sony, HTC and etc.

Have the above phone companies communicated to anyone on their Facebook? Have the above phone companies even send a representative to HWZ to entertain us when they are earning much more than Xiaomi? Even if other companies repair, it will also take awhile too.

In a way Xiaomi has bring themselves closer to their fans/customers in a way no companies have done or even bother with. Give them some time to help you repair or cope with your problem. Maybe you can request for some compensation like free gifts too :D

MiUI comes with minimal bloatware. And with Redmi spec, it will be relatively smooth enough. Not to mention their Mi3.

Currently using the Mi3, battery life is above average, although I was expecting more. Probably have to let the battery mature abit more then conclude..

Camera shots are great. They are using the same Sony Exmor RS as Sony Xperia top-end phones so cameras are expected to be good and quick.

Finally for price-to-performance ratio, I guess no other phones comes close to them in terms of software and hardware combo (although Lenovo and Huawei has near price/performance in their hardware but kinda lacking in their software as compared to MiUI).

When can I expect someone to call me to resolve the problem???

I received the phone since Tuesday until today still cannot use it!

Bro, i think if they replied, it will also be the same response: Wait till next Monday for board replacement (Due to Shipping together with Redmi sales last Thursday)

I feel you too, maybe Xiaomi should come up with official Nano Sim Adapter to be included too.

Explaining your problem is not solving my problem.

As a consumer what I need is a solution now and not another excuses .

I have email you your service department also no response from them.

I will PM you my number if no one interested to contact me to resolve the problem now , I will call 新明and 晚報to tell them the bad experience with XiaoMi phone, is that the kind of publicity you want ??????

and as a consumer you have to also understand the difficulties manufacturer is experiencing.
what do you expect them to do? perform magic?

as xiaomi has explained, there is a need for a hardware change for which they don't have the parts. very obviously because xiaomi models are very popular worldwide.

given the facts, they don't have the hardware to make the change for you, they also don't have phones to do a 1 to 1 exchange for you.
what else you expect them to do?
even if you bought a lg, samsung or any other model, there will also be a possibility of shortage. its not that xiaomi are a lousy company, ironically its because they are too good.

why not you as a consumer, propose a solution for them instead? rather than to come here and keep on rambling about how self-centered and spoilt you are

I guess we expected too much sometimes.. be prepared for backlash :s13:

But i agreed with you,

What i would advice is to return and refund the product if you're not happy with it, just to add on what happens on Xiaomi Singapore Facebook is that People are waiting to get their hand on the phones.

They complain and yet still wait for the next sale, lives still goes on happy or sad.

Its time i stand up against the price on other brands, my Samsung note had issues since the 2nd week i started using wanted to visit their warranty center but BAD reviews was shown all over (Not a single good one), Apple? Good Service and all but small screen and over priced price tag isn't my cup of tea.

I Own Samsung, Apple, LG, Sony Ericsson (Not the new Sony), SoftBank (Japanese Sharp branded version), Xiaomi Mi3 and the up coming Redmi (makes you noticed how much you have been paying for almost the same service?..).

Thanks for starting the ball rolling lumpyme :s34:

Edit: and to Add how long was All the other brands been in Singapore? Compared to Xiaomi?

The easiest way to solve this is for them to replace my set.

When I was there at the service center I can sense from the way they talked to me they have the spare set, but they just refuse to use it for 1-1 exchange for me.

My problem is because of their design flaw and many people face the same which XM also admit. So they should only exchange for me !

Can you imagine having a new phone for 5 days and cannot use it ?????
