It's not a Rom issue. The SIM slots are hardwired.

there are roms which enable 3G on sim 2. It's not a hardware limitation

They are essentially the same model, just some internal parts changes.
The soft case is just like a jacket to your phone, doesn't need to remove original back case.

was on lite mode (phone used by my dad), but he complained the phone notifications kept ringing when nothing was happening

switched back to normal mode, problem went away...

phone also seems slightly faster than in lite mode

Did you set up WhatsApp or Email?

Lite mode by default does not show many notifications on the status bar along the top. Unless the Notification Shade (the bit which appears when you swipe from top to bottom) has been enabled, you won't be aware that some notifications actually came in.

Did not setup whatsapp or email, as my dad's plan has no data. Only using wifi at home.

abit late to the party but just found out that xiaomi sends data back to their China servers when phone is connected through wifi

Anyway to stop this auto collection of data from happening?
(eg, update firmware or 3rd party apps)

hand itchy went to update rom to v29
tried to flash the rom back to v15, but flash already phone will keep "android process has stopped" and cannot work.

which redmi are you talking about with those fw versions ? Anyway, only thing to do is either you restore a backup or, most preferably, you wipe data, cache, dalvik and reinstall v15

Hey guys I got this same issue, music pauses intermittently about 5 - 15 secs while phone is idle, but no issues if I'm using the phone simultaneously. 4G Note with latest MUI just bought the phone 2 days ago.

If you got the FDD-LTE Note 4G in China, it's compatible with Singapore's 4G networks.

Anyway to fix a xiaomi Android process without resetting it? can someone tell me where i can find things or tools that can fix a xiaomi software problem? like os update etc. the process keep crashing make it hard to navigate around.if lucky after a reboot stop its a around a minute.if unlucky, the problem comes back straight away. thks
