Hi everyone, I'm having troubles with transferring files out from my phone's internal storage. It keeps saying empty storage and whenever I did managed to access the files, eg photos, the photos took forever to load and the file explorer will hang. What is wrong? My internal storage is full and I have to clear out the photos in order to update apps, Thank you for the help!

I suggest you uninstall some apps you do not use often. Then you may free up some storage for normal operation.

I think Xiaomi has ended firmware support for Redmi devices before Redmi 3 and Redmi Note 3 series already.

My Redmi 2 is stuck on MIUI 9 7.11.16 Beta since November last year.

You are still using the original MediaTek Redmi 1?! Given up on it since Xiaomi stopped support after releasing the extremely buggy 6.6.1 "stable" build.

Agreed, cannot comprehend the logic behind the stoppage of provision of download links to ROMs even for discontinued devices.

Yup, brought the first batch when it was first launch here.

Can give V8.2.3.0 ROM a try, quite stable but still based on old Android 4.4.2 version. Don't see any sign of anyone releasing ROM based on higher Android release.

Am still using my Redmi 1S (although as spare phone).

All the hardware buttons are broken, but installed app to power off and also to power on via the proximity sensor.

So still good to use for a while more.

Depend on your battery condition and what background apps running. My can last more than a day even though I play relaxing music throughout the night.

Need TWRP to update. There are many write-up on the how-to so I wouldn't repeat here, just google around.

Anyone still using this phone?

Managed to get SIM2 working by swapping the 3G function with SIM1, in short can use 2 SIM card on this phone though not at the same time.

Not sure if MTK Dual Control app is capable of doing it by itself without the need for specific ROM. Anyway for those interested to give new life to this phone can refer to this.

Qoo10 or Lazada is where I go for my Redmi Note 4G previously. Not sure about the Redmi 1/1S battery, should be able to get too. Quite amazed you are still using this phone. My Redmi 1 was deemed unusable (laggy as hell) ever since the final MIUI 6 update.

My Redmi 1 is still going strong except for the bloating battery. Too bad there is no longer any ROM updates, more and more apps no longer run on KitKat!

IMHO, the best stable ROM on this phone is Miui v8 (ported from Redmi Note).
