I just got my redmi yesterday
Using my work sim and personal sim now.

Pros:
I dont need to carry 2 devices
Bluetooth can just use 1 and connect to both lines
Can double up when travelling

Cons:
Phone no 4G
Screen not as precise as iphone 5
Camera sucks
Iphone seem more powerful

U didn't try before buy meh. Please lah, don't compare with 1k phone. But I can say 1k phone may not have more feature as compared to a budget phone meh. :s22:

I bought a Redmi for my mum. I noticed that the phone beep by itself periodically. No missed calls or sms. Anyone know why the beep?

The speaker might be distorted. I bought 2 sets and 1 set had a problem like this. There was like a static beep periodically or time to time when the speaker is activated. If you are certain it is not a WiFi notification like what people have suggested, bring it to service center and you will get 1 to 1 replacement if it is within 7 days from the day you received your phone.

using a China WCDMA hongmi 1s now...

anyone can help me with this?
How do i choose a "default" installation location to SD card instead of the phone internal memory.

I have a 32gd sdcard on board but when i dowload apps, it keeps getting installed in the pathetic 8gb internal memory.

Redmi is good as a spare phone. Only dumbass people think its your everyday driver.

Im using 5s in office. Endwork, i dont even bother to bring it home. Its a office line anyway. That one is snappy and fast. Plus got class for corp image

At home then i use samsung galaxy s5 w redmi as backup.

But tablet wise, i prefer apple ipad air

This 169 fone in fact is doing not too bad against the 1xxx fone.

The iphone doesn't support external SD, difficult for users to change battery, screen size is too small and uses non standard charging cable.

Thing to remember there is no perfect phone.

iPhones are for tech noobs...

And also consumers who like to "support" Apple lifestyle or image of being cool. And they also likes to pay for the marketing and profit for Apple.

These people are gems to marketing department haha.

Easily targeted and convinced. Like those who buy Beats headphones and stuffs. Geez
