open the map when you are on fast moving vehicle (car, bus, taxi, train, etc), you will see how slow redmi updating the position compared to iphone or android with snapdragon

I'm using it in Thailand. Almost died using the gps. It's unbearable experience. Literally can't find anything lol. Its almost useless. One moment showing I'm at one far corner. Another second another location.

GG. Go back change liao. Jialat la. Dual Sim is super useful though.

For that kind of price, it is good for local use. Maybe need to invest more for a better phone to use overseas :)

Holland almost 24/7 for my two weeks of vacation... Local use is okay when driving. Walking n running could be inaccurate.

Thanks! I'm guessing that we can only order via the website and that you can't just go down to Clarke Quay to buy?

Xiaomi service center purely doing servicing. they don't sell xiaomi products.

Ah right.

I wonder if the gps will be better with the 1s

there are reports on poor GPS on MTK chips but not so for SD chip. Though there are workaround to fix it, can google for the link. if you rarely use GPS, don't bother about it

yes theoretically it's the GPS thing inside the CPU that suck on the mediatek phone. SnapDragon 400 will most likely gives you a much better GPS on the redmi 1s.

i wonder why they don't give us the best of both world, redmi note screen and backlight keys, with snapdragon 400.

octa-core is still mediatek, don't care the scores, if the function don't work, no point getting high points. :s22:
