anyone using the 1U4600?
Normally at home they used tower based. What you mentioned is the rackmount version, we have standard and dual PSU ( for redundancy ) versions.
anyone using the 1U4600?
eh? mine doesn't come with it leh... u have a cd / key in the box?
I tried installing the twonky module from Thecus website. In the system module, it prompts me to enter the key, otherwise its a 30days trial... M i missing something? =(
care to share how u got the key??
i'm having N2200, no key nor cd for Twonky server.
same thing as you, install from Thecus website, only 30 days trial.
I am so disgusted with the N2200, the performace is horrible plus its incredibly erratic
* Transfer speeds are mind numbingly slow, trying to transfer between the share folders on the same drive is sleep inducing
* I am having trouble transferring files, the NAS keeps stuffing up. The drive keeps failing to transfer halfway or worse it just wont even allow me to enter the folders on the drive
I bought Thecus because i heard good things bout this brand, never again. What a waste of money.
Thecus N0503 transmission BT module already release http://www.thecus.com/download/module/transmission.2.12.1.x86_N0503.zip
How do I create a share folder that is on the 2nd-level folder and below?
Example on my RAID, I create a 1st level folder call 'All_Share' and under the 'All_Share' folder I create a folder called 'Movies'. How do I create a share folder for 'Movies'?
The user guide only shows how to create folder share for 1st level folder but not folders under the 1st level.
I will be surprise if this function is not available on Thecus NAS, even my basic Dlink 323 allow multi-level folder share.
Thecus has included BT client - Transmission for all NAS with v5 firmware.
Download here http://ftp.thecus.com/tme/transmission_2.12.2.zip
The UI is more straightforward , web based and faster than DLMv2. I know it's a bit slow but better late than never.
I tried it on my 4200eco yesterday, it was able to hit 500kb/s. It could be faster as I stopped the transfer after 5mins as it's already quite late at night.
ThecusAndrew,
Can you advise on installation. This is not the normal module which one can install from online or the CD. After unzipping the file I find a folder with several sub-folders but no module file. How do I install from among the files in the sub-folders? Do I need to compile?
I am using firmware v. 5 on a N2200XXX.
Thanks

Summary
The Thecus N2200XXX is one of the best-performing two-bay NAS solutions we've ever tested.
Armed with a 1.8GHz dual-core Intel processor and DDR3 memory, it's able to hit read and write speeds in excess of 100MB/s, and combines excellent performance with a strong set of features that make it suitable for home or office use.
Sure, the user interface can feel a little rough around the edges, but few two-bay NAS servers offer this blend of performance and functionality.
The Good
Excellent performance
Brimming with features
Easy setup
