hi takeshi, for upgrade, is our data on the raid safe?
I want to upgrade as well but am afraid of data loss.

really like the new interface (there's a thecus demo somewhere on their site).

hallo... certainly there is no 100% in any of these situation. Please do a backup on your data before attempting. Btw I've just upgraded. Login interfacing looks more chio and internally some new display of icons once u login to provide easy access.

To me functions are more impt and bugs especially. The iSCSI failed me on my cluster for a few times but I've managed to recover. Dunno if it's thecus or MS issue but for sure on a few instance thecus iscsi target connectivity loss is for sure one of the cause but they have resolved it so I'll be testing it out as well

PS: Andrew, if you are viewing this thread, could you check with the Thecus engineers if MS cluster (for w2k3 for sure since there is no scsi-3 PR) is a supported solution via MS iSCSI initiator?

I will also send them a email to ask as well. Thanks

The menus are ok, remind me of layouts for low-to-medium-priced routers web UI. Still can pass.

One major issue I have with it upon playing with the demo is the Status Screen doesn't really show you much. All good web UIs have an impressive array of items on the status screen. Can't even tell if the harddisks are spin-down or active from the status screen, that's quite an important feature right

just upgraded the firmware. upgrading was easy and pretty fast. default interface now seems to be more responsive then the previous firmware.

Nope have not gotten the NAS yet, planning to when my birthday comes in May haha. Were you having problems with it?

Based on much feedback I've read, when running Azureus on the NAS, it is able to get proper BT speeds unlike the DLM app.

yup.....with the Azu on the NAS...It just show downloading for its status, but is not starting at all

jupiter, for AZUR module, you have to create a folder called torrents. Azur will default download everything into this folder. have you done that?

As for DNS, what ISP are you using? DNS i am using google's so its 8.8.8.8 but you can enter multiple DNS. set 1st as google's, followed by your ISP's (google for this).

I already did created a new folder - torrents before installation of the module

I am using starhub... You using google one??? You mean u live in the US? Or is there any reason why you using google as your first DNS?

Will router IP important as in insertion as DNS as well?

Yup I agree DLM2 is pretty useless...


So now testing whether it works or not

router connection. and yes, you can set google dns on your router.

check your router port forwarding. make sure 6886 is forwarded to your nas IP.
if you have uPnP on, this should have been created. otherwise, please forward it manually.

weird.... for your router, you using static IP or DHCP Client?

Weird, i set up port forwarding, but it is still the same..Doesn't work at all....

When u got your linux ISO torrent? I thought of testing it out

try rebooting or re-installing your azur? Linux ISOs can be found at distrowatch.com
choose the 'flavor' you want.

U guy using N router or gigabit router? Will there be a significant difference in speed for gigabit router...Want to see whether there is a need to get a gigabit router?

You definitely need a Gigabit router.
100Mbits can only get you 12.5MBytes per sec.

Whereas with a decent harddisk, this router could easily do 30-40 MBytes per sec for read and write I'm guessing.

If you already bought your router don't need to get another one, just buy n-port Gigabit switch (n being the number of ports you need) and hook up to your router's own switch.
