sadly, MPB is different from people to people. most people hair is safe at the side but like you and me included, it affect the safety zone too. yes, i am thinning around the area you mention too.

so far, are you on any treatment?

i got a receding hairline too lei...considered under MPB rite??? isopropyl...wat chemical do u recommend for the least side effects? my senior was telling me the proscar and procepia. he say one of them is for prostrate enlargement one is it? i cant remember which one though...he say get the one for prostrate enlargement and cut it into smaller pieces and eat cos its cheaper? any idea on where to get them and the rough cost? i heard from him its by doc prescription meaning its a controlled drug...

any other ways to slow down receding hairline other than taking drugs?

devilrer:

ya. i am slighty taller then average. unless i sit down, most people should not notice my hairloss without paying much attention. it was when my friends start commenting that i am losing hair while sitting next to me that i realise something is wrong. i am losing at the side too.

it look like you have diffuse thinning. at the moment, i will suggest you stick to proscar and minoxidil for at least a year or so and see your result before moving on. both treatment will help all your hair not only the vortex although to a lesser degree. be patient and see how it goes. remember to take some picture as record.

what type of laser treatment are you using?

noobkia:

it could be MPB or just mature hairline. if you are reasonable young and having a big M, your chance of MPB is high. same as your senior, i will say take finasteride. Proscar(5mg) is for Prostate and Propecia(1mg) is for hairloss.

Proscar is the one you cut it into 4-5pieces to save cost as you only need 1mg for hairloss per day.

in singapore you need prescription and it cost $120. or you can get it from malaysia without prescription. it cost about slightly below $90. one box of 30pills can last your 4-5months depend on how many pieces you cut it up. if you are interested in getting proscar, drop me a PM. i might be able to help.

other than taking drugs orally, another proven way to offset your hairloss is a drug call minoxidil. you apply it to your scalp. there are other not proven treatment which might have benefit but i suggest you still with proven treatment first before moving on.

haha... again, chill man. instead of sticking to the discussion and proving your point, your reply have become more of a personal attack.

i not acting smart. just wish to learn more.

as far as i know, in UK there are no official use of generic drug from india especially finasteride due to law if i not wrong. i might be. many countries do not use it because of india violation of patent law.

therefore you mention your friend have experience with it so i was quite surprise. to be able to claim what you mention, he must having been using it for a number of years since patients have to take both brand name and generic. how he is able to use india generic for these years in UK is something new to me.

in forums, i have read before quite a number of years ago a couple of users reported having better result and side effect with india generic therefore i am very interested to know more about it since your friend have experience and able to verify this. none of the hairloss doctors i communicate with in the states have any idea as none of them used india generic drugs.

don't get me wrong. i am not bashing you. sending emails to hairloss doctors have been what i have been doing all these years. i not doing it to challenge you. anyway, as from your reply, i see no point in carrying on. peace. out.

i have start to doubt your knowledge , does the doctor need to consume himself then he will know about the drug? r u stupid to reply such a comment? Generic drug is not regulated is a fact , simple as that. go check around , call YOUR UK doctor, OR send mail , or sms or whatever

haha... it doesn't matter. he is in my ignore list. i won't reponse to anyone if i feel it have turn into a win or lose thingy instead of discussion.

over the years i have learn if a healthy discussion turn into bashing especially online, there no point fighting over it and that apply to myself. getting upset over some forums posting??? haha...

with internet, we are already hidding behind a monitor yet so often, it is so hard for us to let go of our pride and argue over nothing. there is a time to drop our pride especially toward people to people. i always remember one of my mentor mention to me before, "don't win the reason and lose a relationship".

having hairloss does taught me some life lesson you know:)

saw one thread in EDMW about BaWang shampoo
http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?t=1979380

the review for it anti-dandruff shampoo seem to have some good review. i was seriously thinking of maybe just give it a try for its hairloss shampoo although against all my common sense until i saw jackie chan press interview at the last part of this Utube video. the founder of the shampoo look pretty bald to me:s8:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04LqkHWB_xY

someone pls teach me how to embed Utube video?

Anyone knows any site where i can order Revivogen online?

I got my first bottle from Aremy Hair to try out, but it's certaintly not cheap as they are selling for ard $85... i saw on some online site which sells ard $60 (inclusive of shipping cost) but unfortunately they dun seem to ship to SG.

So any recommended site i can order Revivogen online... i'm keen to try Tricomin as well.

Any other users who wish to order can pm me as well, so we cld pool resources if the order is big enough...

finally after 3 weeks on the site, the site is ready,
the below site is a gathering place and information place for all those especially
located in Singapore who have issues above the head, like myself,
it is the central place for us from different forums to have a specific forum catering to the specific issue

..learn the scientifically proven treatments,
learn the reasons
and more importantly,
have a centralised location forum for singapore catering for this issue

u r quite a gentleman i would say. honestly speaking, i like reading on ur comments, opinions and advices since u have tried much more ways to combat hairloss than others of us here, and the info u have gathered is much more than us, based on the number of years of treatment.

keep ur wise words going.

but hope ur treatment will be a success :)

so far how you find revivogen?

i know it too early for any result. i mean in term of application, smell, feel of it.

I would like to share my experience with Revivogen so others thinking of trying it might have some references...

OK, firstly, it wasn't as oily or smelly as I would expected - prob cos i've read a number of comments here about how drippingly oily or strong odour the lotion would be, I've braced myself for the worst but in the end was rather pleasantly surprised.

It actually felt like some chinese herbal lotion - dark brownish in colour with a little tonic smell - and felt cooling when it touches the scalp.
As for the smell, i guess it's a matter of personal preferences, but i didn't find it unbeareable, in fact i kinda of like the tonic smell.

I've used Minoxidil for a prolonged period of time, but owing to my sensitive scalp, it always caused me to have red, itch and sometimes even swollen skin along the frontal hairline where i apply the lotion. The liquid version is the worst, and after switching to the foam version, it was slightly better but still with a bit of side effects.

With Revivogen (i've used it once daily at night for around 1 month), my scalp has taken to it pretty well so far.

For hair growth, i honestly have seen none yet... but at least it does not cause my skin to be red and itch like Minoxidil.

So i wld recommend it as an alternative to those who dun tolerate Minoxidil well ...
