i order my PPG free minoxidil from Dr. Lee.
in case you don't know, he the dude running www.minoxidil.com
Xandrox is basically minoxidil with Azelaic acid. in a study, azelaic acid seem to show ability to reduce 5-alpha reductase activity although no one know the mode of action. do note that this study is done with vitro. in another study done in vivo, azelaic acid is not effective at all. so whether azelaic acid does anything for hairloss is unclear. but i doubt so.
as for higher concentration of minoxidil, if you are already using 5% twice per day then there is no point getting one with higher concentration.
let consider 5% is about 30% more effective then 2% version. 5% version contain 150% more minoxidil then 2% version yet it only improve result by about 30%. we can see the law of diminish return here. there is no point in paying more money for higher concentration minoxidil.
just to add on, i remember reading a study on how much minoxidil your scalp can hold. i can't remember all the details but they are using 3% solution and apply to the scalp from 2 to 8times per day. IIRC, twice per day application already almost saturate the scalp with minoxidil. 8times application did not make too much of a different. there is only so much minoxidil your scalp can hold.
somemore if you are using 5% x 2times per day, i believe putting more minoxidil is just not going to make any different.
