Hair transplant
Hi sadcas3
Was your frontal hair almost all gone before your doctor can advise to do the transplant? If there are still some hair but very thin already, can the doctor transplant in between those hairs? Or must all the hair be shaved off? Once shaved, i think will look very noticeable that you had something done.
Hey guys,
I have checked up a lot on this topic. Let me share what i have learnt.
Certain men are prone to MPB and so the hair from certian areas of the head will drop off. The theory is that it's the hair that is bad. Take for example grass. If you plant bad grass in good soil the bad grass will still not grow. But if you bring in bring in good grass then it will grow. The same with your hair. The soil-your scalp-is not the problem, its the hair in that area that is prone to Male Pattern Baldness and heriditary issues. So if you take hair from good parts and plant there it will not drop ever again. (this is proven)
The doc will advice you to take propecia or rogaine to maintain the current hair u have. Taking Propecia and Rogaine helps keep your hair in the shaft and stop dropping then in time it also thickens the hair and you will possibly also have new growth. But this does not apply to everyone. So the Doc will advice you to take these pills to keep whatever hair that you have and then they will transplant to the areas that are already balding or totally bald.
Due to the fact that transplant is quite expensive ($5 per shaft and $7 for the new technique) and also time consuming they do 1 part at a time. So depending on how bald you are it may take up to 3 or 4 surgery in total to fix it.
So as much as Prince Harry is balding and he is rich and whatever, i think it's just a personal choice to go bald. Some people just feel it's not worth the hassle even though they have money. For famous people, going for such surgery would eventually leave them open to gossip and doctors/nurse's, clinical help trying to sell the information to newspapers and stuff.
End of the day, would you spend that 10 to 50k to get your hair back or do you think that you can live with it? Most people get used to seeing themselves bald and then they just decide to save the money...
