My top frontal is thinning a lot and crown also started to thin down...
Now i am thinking of whether going for hair transplant or trying out the Topical application like Regaine minoxidil...
Does topical minoxidil has any side effects? Will it cause hairloss more during the beginning stage of using?
Is hair transplant a more faster and more effective solution? Any side effects or risk?
Any views to share?
Thks!

Hi Postcountwarrior,

So how long u been taking propecia + minoxidil?
I worried that it can onli stop my hairloss and maynot promote hairgrowth..and it will take a long time rite?
Hair transplant seems to be a faster way...
Btw, hwo long u been taking propecia+minoxidil?
Dis u encountered bad shedding during initial stage like some ppl encountered?

Propecia doesn't help my hair regrow, it did slow down the loss initially but now hair has started to thin rapidly. I think my body is getting resistant to the propecia.

Very sad......no other option liao but to accept balding......

So you do see stoppage of hairloss plus bonus hair growth after taking propecia+minoxidil?
How long u take to see positive results?
Why you do not recommend hair transplant in your view?

Took propecia for abt 1.5 years. Hair loss reduced abt 6 to 7 months after. Cost of hair transplant and fear of shock loss..........

You want sound advice?

Firstly propecia can really turn you impotent PERMANENTLY.
It can reduce and maybe regrow a little hair.
Dun expect much effect.
There are alot of cases of the drug suddenly lost effect and what ever you grew suddenly withered and dropped off.
It's not about the money, it's the impotency which is a big issue.
IMO it's not worth it.

Secondly, for people who are losing hair on the crown.
Can use Rogaine.
It works only on the top crown but not on the residing hairline.
At the moment, i can't find any solution to residing hairline rather than hair transplant.

I've a friend who did this and it works the best.
He has successfully got back his Aaron Kwok look.
1) Hair transplant from back to frontal. (From Thailand; They are the pros and they are 1/4 price of SG)
2) Use Rogaine on the top.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, maintain it. With right shampoo and maybe rogaine.
Whether you maintain it now before it has effect, or whether you already did something which works and you should protect it.
If you have a son, i will advise you to advise him to use the right shampoo with immediate effect to avoid future woes like you who is reading this now.
There's two shampoo that are highly recommended to be effective which i don't know why it's seldomly mentioned. Anyway find a good shampoo and use Rogaine.
