i hear about that shampoo and what it can do too. if i not wrong, it quite popular in philippines. even if the making hair grow faster part is true, i doubt it will grow hair affected by MPB.

Boner:
1) H&S and Clear should not make much different as both using the same active ingredient.

2) my finasteride history. firstly Propecia in singapore -> Proscar in singapore -> Proscar from Thailand -> Fincar from online.

3) Rogaine and Growell shouldn't have any different. Gel version is only regular strength which is 2% concentration. go get the foam version online. cheaper and better.

4) Does propecia cost less over at JB? a big yes.

5) Nizoral plus 1% is fine :)

6) itchy with rogaine is mostly cause by PPG in it. get minoxidil with no PPG.

7) Red nizoral is the 2% version.

My findings on hair loss

For sharing purpose only.

The factors that one can work on:

1) DHT and other androgens (easily overcome with finasteride).

2) Make sure you do exercise that improve blood circulation for at least an hour 4-6 times a week.

3) Use a shampoo that fight dandruff (Cheap ones like H&S can work well for most). Wash your hair at least once a day, keep it clean and oil free.

Try these and let me know the results. If it does not work I will recommend you level 2 method.

Thanks for the details reply.

Currently i am using Regaine Gel. Seems ok, does that mean rogaine foam will also be ok for me since both contain PPG?

Intersting chart

file_1.gif

this graph show that finasteride and minoxidil work best together. it also show both medication do not stop working after a few years although hairloss does continue to progress. note that after 5years, the haircount is still higher than baseline even with minoxidil alone.

Thinning hair is most like to be the cause of Free testerone and DHT. Consult a good dermatologist. Propecia should help. Market have two many rubbishes product and shampoos, i wonder how can a shampoo fight hair loss? There is only two products certified in the market, Propecia and Regaine. Both have to be used for a long term. Propecia has side effects of 1% and the side effects will go off once you stop taking it, so it is a very safe product. Regaine is a product that grows more hair than the hair that drops, but the hair grown will not be as thick as the normal hair and it does not treat the problem compared to Propecia. There is also another new technology, laser treatment, using lasercomb, it has made large amount of people hair feel denser and thicker. It is now on the testing phase ( 5 years phase ) where results are taken and logged. Lasercomb are available at singapore, can try iaremyhair.com, think they got it.

Wan waste money on those unproven products, go ahead. There are many greedy and evil doctors and companies waiting to fool and con your money on stupid products and worthless treatments.

A nice blog here [ http://www.baldingblog.com ]

This doctor of the blog who is quite famous in dematology, Dr Rassman will answer your question.

omg, lasercomb costs $600+, too expensive for a single haircare product, esp when so few pple know and discuss abt this product...
the cost will not be justified unless it is really that effective

DHT and testosterone is only part of the equation or the trigger for MPB. it is not the solo cause. human MPB is very complex and happen due to multiple factors. so to address this problem fully, you need a range of treatment rather than product that due with only DHT and testosterone. unlike macaques baldness which is purely genetic and androgen-driven and response extremely well and consistent to anti-androgen treatment, human baldness is much more complicated. still, product like finasteride is the foundation of every hair loss treatment.

a number of shampoo have good evident that it help in one way or another for hair loss. like nizoral, NANO, H&S etc. some shampoo DOES help.

other than propecia and minoxidil, any products that treat factors of balding WILL help with hair loss. these 2 products are most well tested and have a good balance between side effect and benefit. i won't be quick to dismiss other treatment. for example Avodart which is 50times more effective than finasteride.

laser is nothing new. hairmax have been trying for years to gain FDA approve but fail. whether does it work, how it work etc is still in debate. one of my friend told me it does nothing for him. but at least it a product with pretty good backing and certainly worth trying if you have the extra cash.
there are clone version which is cheaper and suppose to be better if you want to try it. for example the amazing laser comb or laser wand. the one you posted is the lite edition of hairmax lasercomb. the original version cost about $600USD yet the material is dirt cheap. amazing laser comb use multiple 650nm, 5mw laser dioides which is the laser diodes specification(635nm-670nm) that many hair loss clinic use. hairmax(original version) use a single 26mw diodes and reflect it to 8parts. not to mention that are alot of complain on their after sales service including my friend.

nizoral is for fungal infection? It contain contents to treat fungal infection to the scalp, but there are just too many types of fungal infections.. This is a trial and error type.
H&S is for dandruffs? Dandruff do cause hair loss.
Avodart (dutasteride) should be reserved for those who do not respond to Propecia (finasteride). It is an off-label use, which means that the FDA does not authorize Avodart’s use for hair loss. Advodart have a relatively long half life at 5 week. There is stilll not enough studies for it, there are still some risks in taking this drug.

Yeap some of the saloons do have this huge laser equipments for sometime already.
