You will LOSE MORE HAIR when you start using minoxidil...
Common side effects includes ACNE, DANDRUFF, ITCH SCALP...

It takes a few months untill your starts growing...
For his case, 4 sprays for 2 year 9 months, increasing to 6-8 sprays. Is losing even more hair before regrowth necessary?

I need to ask for my knowledge. ':D

have been using minoxidil for 2 yrs 9 mth ( abt 4 spray per session). No regrowth on the receding area.2 mths ago, follow the nurse advise to use 6 to 8 sprays per session. Result: WORST :s27: My hair seems to shed even more. Made up my mind to stop using it. I think it don't work on me. Hope I can regain the hair I lost cause by minoxidil. I doubt FDA approved medication now.

Same. I had been using for half a year. Every day i woke up on my bed, i saw my hair drops and furthermore during the night when esp when i start to spray, it get a little itchy. So right now what i am doing is just taking the medication that the doctor gave me (propecia). I take it every night and the hair drop appear to reduce from 10 to 2 - 3 or none each time i look at my pillow when i woke up in the morning to check.

i have this massive sudden hair loss... used to have thick hair, but suddenly 1 year ago, i am starting to lose my hair all over my head. not just those MBP but the entire head seems to be shedding hair and have thinner hair. my hair can be easily drop out by simply sweeping hand through my hair... even those at the sideburn, back of my head, bascially everywhere!!!

i drop on an average of 100++ hair everyday!!! now my whole scalp has very little hair. i check my side, my front and my back, the spacing between hairs is getting wider. what is going on?

is this MBP or some other problems???
this isnt mbp. thinning of whole crown.

up for expert for details

male pattern balding.

beijing 101 wont help. $ wont help.

google prince william. if he is balding and has no cure, what makes us have the $/resource to find one?

& no, by 30, if you only bad at that top area, only that part may be hairless, side and back still have.

This thread is ultra long, but read finish it, you will gain a lot of knowledge. right now, try to reduce stress, dont think too much about hair loss.

Any recommendations for hair transplant?

Hi all,
been following the thread for quite some time liao, haf to say its very informative!
I noticed that I've been losing hair since 3mths ago. Very rapid hairloss but can't see very much visible hair drop during bathing or on pillow. Now my vertex and crown very thin liao...
On mixoxidil5, propecia and Nizoral 2%(3 times per week) for about 2months already but everyday still losing hair...
Even tried YN but tat one onli cause hair to grow longer and not more lol!
So considering hair transplant liao... If still losing hair before I go trasplant, I tink will shave botak haha... But shave liao still can go for transplant?
Minoxidil seems to grow hair for me but those very fine ones at the front while thick ones drop -.-
Curremtly 25, student so anyone can recommend more afforable place for transplant? Or should I wait 3 mths @ least to c whether propecia works?
Hope that at least when I go work liao still got hair >.<

massivedroppage :

nope. it not a "natural drug". it a prescription drug if the rumour is true. further more, it through topical application.

Where did you read it ?
2008 is coming. Hope it will be a breakthru year for hairloss.
We can't afford to wait any longer or else our hair follicles will be gone forever

if hair folliciles are gone, the last resort is hair transplant already?

ps: i read somewhere in this thread that there will be a cheap treatment of using side/back hair for transplant to center of crown etc. it will be cheap and easily available. what's the upate on this now?

wow, good luck, you must messed up your hair follicles.

the reason why your hair seems like its shedding even more when you apply minoxidil is because new hair is actually starting to grow in your follicle. when you have new hair starting to grow in your follicle, naturally your old strain of hair will fall and drop (you think this is worsening, but its not). if you had diligently continue using it, you'll see the improvement.

well, now that you've stopped, you've basically stunted the growth of the new hair, not only that, but you also lost your existing hair...
