ive experienced pain/itch/weird sensation on this front left side of my scalp near the mid. and this is the part tt is thinning very rapidly. is this sign of MPB? or is it some inflammation? can see bit red spots on tt area of scalp.

Around 5 months passed since i start proscar. No noticeable regrowth yet, but hairloss has decreased, itchiness gone. My crown is still thinner than the rest, but i would give proscar more time for any chance of regrowth, hairloss treatment is a long road like people say. Only side that i "might" have is a slight drop in libido, but not to the extend that suggest attention.

For Dermatologist, private clinic will be the fastest way, i'm not sure of their charges though. U can also make appointment straight with NSC without referral but u will be charge with the full amount.

As for trichologists, i can't say anything becos i dun know wat kind of treatment they give. But i'm pretty sure they will be fast in receiving u hehe.

jimmyhand thanks for providing the info. no it doesnt seem to be AA, coz from what i know AA will be a bald patch? its not bald, still have hair, but i think hair has miniaturized in that area. im sorry but after reading much from forums i seriously think NSC is crap. does anyone know where i can do a miniaturization mapping of the scalp?

actually what im most scared of is increase shedding if i take propecia. though they keep saying its so rare, but baldingblog.com has so many of them encounter it, some of it wun stop at all. did anione encounter shedding on proscar/propecia? if so how long and how much more. sorry if i sound like a chicken but if i shed somemore i think die liao. as ive said its mine is overall thinning on the top. i noe its better to seek specialist help but i dun tink i trust NSC. anyone know of any other places? thanks alot and sorry for the long msg.

i think tricho no use unless its scalp problem eh. if its dht attacking the follicles i think they cant do much. isn't there some way to test if its dht tts the culprit? can they test for dht lvl in the scalp? dun mind bout cost but is such technology available here?

want to check sth with MPB ppl, does ur fallen hair all have a white tip? mine is almost all have white tip, ive check online its suppose to be telogen efflivium, but i dont suppose so becoz its been like one yr since i notice hair thinning. unless its chronic TE? zzz although noe that we are not suppose to stress over it as it will worsen it, but its easier said then done la. im really damn depressed over it, its hard not to think about it.

u go haf a look at the numerous treatments by svenson, they do attack the problem of DHT, not purely scalp problem.. they treat hairloss in a more scientific way..

Hi guys.. I'm new here.. I have been taking Proscar as prescribed by my GP to treat my thinning hair for about 6 mths now.. So far so good as in my hair seems to be maintaining and there is no further hair loss but the signs of thinning is still visible particularly the top part but its not as bad and obvious as before.. Looks like I will have to take this medication for life.. I heard that if you stop taking it, the hair thinning will continue..

By the way, I was with Yun Nam before than I realized that they were just too expensive and it did not seem to work. I wasted lots of money on them.... Damn.. Regretted ever going there.. Then I found out about Proscar which showed much better results than Yun Nam did..

yeah NSC, but they only can give u minoxidil or propecia, nothing much they can do.. except maybe for taking a blood test to see if it's due to ur health..

i went svenson today.. they having a promotion now.. the experience is good, they checked my scalp, assess my problem, n see wad they can do abt it.. totally no hard selling..

as for the cost, they recommend me to do the 1st part, which is scalp rejuvenation, total of 18 treatments, 9 for cleansing scalp, 9 for nourishing my follicles/scalp..

these 18 treatments will cost $998, which can be paid with 0% interest installment thru Credit card..

after this, they haf the programme to regrow hair, this one will attack the DHT n stimulate new hair growth.. quite expensive though, each treatment can cost $85-$130.. n it might take as many as 30 sessions, but u can choose how many u wan depending on ur budget, no forcing u.. the cost will depend on how big the area u wanna treat on ur head..

why not you do less treatment for the 1st part as it is mainly cleansing and nourishing.
save the money and spend it on the regrow hair part?

and btw, i though once follicles closed, they are gone. how do they intend to regrow the hair?

also, did they mention what you would need to do after completing all their treatment?
for eg, use certain drugs to maintain the way things are.
