I also tot of that. Different queue for different age group. But as someone mentioned, it all about sinkies mindsets.

They will just queue at the shorter queue n argue their way thru. (Doctor appointment, essential job, got class, got meeting.....)

It's a public holiday. Dont find excuses...

there were threads in edmw before polling day on this allocation timing. Some will just go as and when they like while others understand and follow the timing. Enforcement will make it worst. its all boils down to sinkies mindset.

I think the old way of OTOT still feasible but with special arrangements for elderly and those with special needs like disability or pregnant. this group will have priority to cut queue to the front and process first. The processing is rather fast so it won't take too much of others time. of cause there will still be some sinkies who die die don't give way

Then got 1 whole day free.

There are wheelchairs inside polling station.
Some elderly reject when were offered to use the wheelchair.

My tot, the allocated time slot is causing the long queue.
Election department did not enforce it. They only advise the voter come at allocated timeslot.

End up, youngster n non pioneer voters also come n vote in the morning. Gate crash with the pioneer.

Not really, I went early with my dad, I estimate about 80+ ppl in the queue. Only 5 (thereabout) youngsters, barely enough to make an impact, like someone mentioned, ELD clearly did not take the demographics into consideration before coming out with that rule.

You can't do that.
When announcement made, voters can come before 10pm

And for sengkang, most of their voters are youngster. That's why they have massive queue during 4-7pm time slot.

Think that’s the problem. If I’m not wrong they just give the time slot according to your age. So in areas where there is more older people morning is very crowded and in areas where more young people later timing more crowded.

Most presiding officials live around the polling station and hence vote at the same polling station they work at. They get to vote when the timing is favourable. Same for those presisidng officials who need to travel to other stations to vote. They get to go right to the front of the queue.

can vouch as what hakunaymatata mentioned. Presiding Officers who are voting in the same polling station have to play by ear and observe the situation. If queue is long - don't join in, let the others go first. Wait till the queue is short/no queue, quickly ask for covering/inform fellow colleagues and rush to join in to vote.

yess very accurate. I was also the PO standing under the hot sun dealing with irritating drivers to tell them the voting premises cannot be parked. Imagine the amount of scolding from the public.

Ohh. about meals. The polling agents have piping hot meals delivered to them by their respective parties.

We? we have to take breaks to rush to eat, eat to rush. Our SRO ordered pizzas for the whole team for lunch (not sure if its from her own pockets..) & impromptu fried chicken for us for dinner due to the sudden extension. ELD provides snacks like those Japanese packet bun that is sold for $1, biscuits, and oreo, etc..

I personally did not have a proper meal throughout the whole day. Almost died. this money not good to earn. knn

Same thing happening to most Presiding Officers. ELD only provide snacks.Breaks were forgo.

Meals such as lunch/dinner(due to the extension) are not provided. Imagine you had a busy morning and feeling damn tired, you have to settle your own meal with max 50min meal break. Imagine how the POs were feeling. The lucky ones would have their SPO/ARO making meal arrangements and treating the team out of their own $$.

To be fair the polling station is a temporary location.

Securing stock of the sensors and deploying in a short period of two weeks with the schools still being used is not feasible la. Where are they gonna keep the excess are stock of sensors for the next 5 years too.
