Guys, you lot should feedback to election department rather than complain here.

Civil servant job is about provide services to the public.

U should rejected the election officer role if u are not happy.

My colleague got dengue 2 week before the election and he still feel weak, wrote to ELD to remove him but got rejected.

Why now need training and also being paid? I did for SDP on volunteer basis last time and no training required also. Isit new regulations?

Did your colleague ask the doctor to issue him a medical cerificate, excuse him from perform election duty?

And all polling station have reserve election officers.
If your colleague believe he is not feeling well, he can always inform the polling station SPO, ARO in advance. Then go n see doctor n get a MC.

His family worried for him as he be low on immune especially this covid19. Don't understand why ELD can't just replace him rather want to risk him.

If he is not feeling well, report sick. And let them activate the reserve.

Polling station election team have countless of meeting in advance. He should highlight to his team leader about his condition. His team leader will advise him what to do. There are standby backup officers.

You were a polling agent lah.. this thread is talking about presiding officials which are all public servants from the ministries and stat boards and perform very different roles from a polling agent.

then ELD should indent wheelchairs cos seeing those elderly on walking sticks is really very sad

i understand elderly wanna vote but it pain me to see them struggling to the voting stations
