If the watch is stolen it usually does not come with warranty card and without warranty card you cannot claim warranty
What I mean is if original buyer play punk…
We can trust the grey dealer shop is reputable, but we know nothing about their sources?

For grey dealer shop, under second hands goods dealer act, they are required to record down the information of the person who sell them the watch, this rule does not affect PDPA

I see.. interesting. So we are protected by law if the original buyer decides to play punk and report his sold watch as lost or stolen?

for some reason if Rolex decides not to honor warranty, but we can still get them to service with fee as long as the watch is authentic right?

Ok they won’t confiscate the watch if reported stolen right, if got proof of purchase from grey dealer. Like receipt and warranty card
Like as stated in the article. If it’s patek, then it will be returned to original owner.. this is pertaining to genuine theft of course.
Rolex wise, they don’t have such system to track.
anyway buying from Grey will entail some “risk”? If not comfortable, then as what another member suggested, start a journey with an AD..

was at an AD just now.. was told to update my profile with a photo of my name card. This despite me having >5 watch purchase history with them. Apparently they (not sure the SA referring to AD or rolex) would like to screen their clientelle before allocating the watch. OMG what new heights of snobbery.
OK fxxk this bye bye, i'm going to buy from grey market from now on. Screw your stupid 'journey'.

It’s a new thing from THG… what to do… too many flippers spoil the market.

The SA had to peel off the stickers, take a photo of the peeled stickers with the watch, tags, books and cards and upload into the system.
