Hello,

Looking for some advice here regarding a pre-owned Rolex Batman 11670 (dated 2017) I purchased from a resale dealer at the start of this year.

Think during my purchase that time the market was still very hot so I paid about close to $30K for the watch. I was buying it for it's potential investment value.

However, seems like in recent months, the prices have dwindled significantly. Have sought advice from the dealer whom I purchased from in April and he mentioned that the prices will eventually go back to around the price I bought.

Another 3 months and I see the prices falling even more. And also with the newer 126 Batman in the market, not sure if the prices will continue to do a free fall.

Need some advice if I should just sell it off to cut my losses or continue to hold. At this point I am not looking to gain from the watch liao but just hope to re-coup as much as I can from the money I've paid for it.

older gen batman with warranty left, i think can still sell at 18-19k if used.
brand new, maybe can get 20k

but if you sell to shop, expect lower

Probably not everyone expected prices to drop so rapidly.. but the moment Rolex announced return of Batman under the new serial ref.. it’s a red flag to buy the old gen since prices were so hyped when it was discontinued. Same thing will happen for the hulk should Rolex announce a replacement next year.

They are just trying to create the perception that Tudor is fast becoming like Rolex in terms of demand. The truth is that even the hotter Tudor models aren’t really selling above retail in the grey market.

PSA: for those who are tracking prices like me, I recommend joining Moda Watch Club on Facebook. It's a US based watch group similar to our SGROC Trading Group but with more (1) watches and (2) updated prices. IMO, US watch market tends to be ahead of Asia market so knowing their prevailing prices will help us better gauge where Sg price action. You'll find that prices there are tanking fast so that's good news for those who have been waiting on the sideline to enter.
