So what does profile building actually mean? Does it mean that once I go there I need to buy the watch(es) they recommend before even bringing the idea of me wanting a Rolex? Or do I just need to buy watches from them and hope they will one day call me up about the model I want?

Is there any tactful way to say “hey can you tell me what I should do to get allocated for a 124270”?

Buy something, ask for namecard & follow-up with the SA after that

Haha I think I just own goal myself. Well I did say to THG rep that I don’t mind buying something to get allocation. She still say they don’t do such things lol.
Dude, they can’t state this too explicitly in a phone conversation to promise an allocation if you buy something, especially if the sales person who picks up your call is junior in the organisation. A fellow forumer here had given you the most appropriate advice. Go down in person, have a chat with the sales person, tell them you would like to get something to start the relationship with them. like maybe a TT DJ first and also you are hopeful that you can get a sports model allocation (like the Explorer which you stated) some time down the road with them. After you got it, then follow up with that SA on what’s next. Whether that purchase is enough to get a sports model allocation after you bought the watch, they will then advise you. Please do not expect that the moment you says that you would like to buy something in the hope of getting an Explorer, they will tell you straight away “sure, we will allocate one for you once you made the purchase”. It doesn’t work that way, at least not for THG. Other AD I can’t comment.

since when can start with TT DJ first one?

Even that also have to express interest and no way of buying to start

The point is you can start with any small datejustor even dj36. So long that the watch is in stock coincides with what you are looking for and the sa can show you. Most of the Ads should have healthy display now as it’s mandated by Rolex. So can sit down try it out what’s on display and thereafter narrow down to your preferred configuration for the DJ. If u r lucky, it happens to be in stock, you can buy it. If it’s not, then have to wait (wait time depends on stock delivery, how many asking for this piece and how proactive your SA is)

First step is express interest. After that they will then look at the stock arrivals and then call you if they have a piece for you to start as first one. Yep, you are right, there is no immediate piece for walk in customer to purchase.

I agree. I expressed interest for a SS DJ 28 and waited almost three months before being allocated. My partner was also keen to get another brand from the AD so it helped to build the profile. AD will also try to find out if you're a genuine buyer or just want to flip the watch. But all the watches takes time as they don't have immediate stock. Most of my allocations took more than a few months.

Alright I’ve mistaken that it can be done via phone call. I’ll go down in person to chat up and see how it goes from there. Thanks.

Most likely will. But I’m also interested to collect other watches down the road, including Rolexes, and would like to experience buying from AD as well.
U would still prob need to do more bundlings later on lar unless rolex u want no longer above retail at grey lor

Dunno about you but honestly I seldom see people buy from grey and AD at same time. It’s usually either grey or AD all the way for most people. but I won’t say it’s not possible just that very few people take the mixed route

Hi, 23F here, have been eyeing a lady datejust 28 for my graduation but have been told to put myself on the interest list by THG, Cortina, Palace etc when we all know the interest list is bs. it’s a mere Ladies model Ref 279381RBR yet I’ve been waiting for months to no avail. I haven’t seen this model on the grey market either and I don’t want to buy 2nd hand too. Anyone with tips or able to help me get this watch pls PM me. I’m not interested in any other watch or building a journey for a sports / pro model. I personally prefer spending my money on bags and don’t see the appeal of most watches with the exception of this model so I’m only gonna have one watch for the next 10 years. TYIA.

many would be glad to use chiu as their profile building and purchase history for their benefit…ask those who would like to “refer” chiu to pay chiu some small token if they make use of chiu

The first word that my current AD uses when I first started with him/her is “journey“. Building profile are two words that came later. The word bundle was never used.
With demand the journey is AD leading it.
AD how much u wanna make before selling me the watch, if they looking at is same as grey might as well go grey. Why paid much more to get those watches u don’t want and give AD an illusion they can sell other brands well. Have to beat them not cave into the tactics
