My SA told me this 30% thingy too when I visited in End Aug too. But not sure how true. Some people say Rolex will never tell their AD such things. But somehow i feel somewhat confident of the things she tells me about Rolex (she won’t tell me things which she not confident of from what I know)

Was offered a BB58 by AD, but i rejected it as i have already managed to buy it some months back. Would like to know if rejecting an offer from AD would affect my chances of getting other Rolex watches in the interest list with the same AD? Anyone has any experience of this? Appreciate much if anyone can share.

It’s really Heng Suay. Sometimes they check sometimes they don’t.
if let’s say take a gamble and don‘t declare and they check and found out, will they penalise against you by asking you to pay not just the GST but also a penalty? This part I still unsure. Never caught in such situation before

The more paranoid you are, the more you will attract custom's attention. If get caught, just cook up some excuses. If buy a watch oversea until so kang kor then may as well dun buy..Anyway overall is still cheaper here..

Heard Rolex ramping up production by as much as 30% and over at HK, most standard sports models maybe available at retail soon except for Daytona.

Be patient guys. Things will get better next year.

Haha I’m quite cool one when walking out with the luggages towards the door where the officers stood to do random checks. I pretend like nothing much with me. The last time I went on a shopping trip was just before Covid, to Osaka and Tokyo. I got a Omega Planet Ocean in Japan and LV messenger bag in my luggage and just walk out but nothing happens. But I know in last 2 years due to their desperate attempts to increase revenue collection, they have been a lot more vigilant in such checks. I have not done any shopping in overseas for almost 3 years. Next month I will travel for holiday but have no intention to shop for Rolex watches as I prefer to buy from my SA.

Why not? They specifically state in the immigration area that any goods brought in from overseas with value exceeding $400 can be taxed for GST. Tissot is around $1000 or so right? So they can tax you for GST for that if they want

Yes, she told me that. She say the 30% will mainly go towards SS sports model production and that production for classic models and models in full precious metal will remain low. But she say that the increased in sports models will shorten the waiting time for customers who had met the “qualifying criteria” and not for allocation to walk in customers. Yep, coming from her, I’m inclined to believe it would be accurate. Only thing is when I told another Rolex enthusiast about this 30% thingy, he brushed it off as pure wild speculation as he does not believe Rolex will tell their AD how much increase or decrease they will adopt for its production.

Nothing much lo.. just that those of us waiting won’t wait as long as before lo for some of the hot models..knowing her for so long.. it’s more of sharing rather than to lead pple on to think it’s gonna be easier to get the sought after models

No particular intention. She is open to share insights and news to some of her clients who visits her regularly. I don’t think she tells this to everyone she met at the boutique
