Not really pioneer. Louis Breguet was the first for the minute repeater.
Patek marketing in the past was done well. Infact they don't have their own perp calendar movement until recently. They have been using lemania base movement.
Only thing is one of the oldest watch manufacture and still independent. People like that.

Infact not only minute repeater but also Tourbillon..

it really seems dropping further. Saw 2020 Panda 40.9k. Last week it was 41.8k

Got a friend bought Hublot classic fusion. He got the YM 40 Rhodium Dial allocation two months later

Haha i bought a tagheuer, iwc ingenieur and a tudor bb heritage blue in a pretty short time span. First bought the tag than wanted more watches haha. Waiting for datejust but just put my interest in yatchmaster too. Close shop for this year liao haha.

Hopefully i can get an allocation by July next year for my 30th birthday.
