When Panda was 27k last time, its retail price was just 16.7k. So premium was 27/16.7, but retail price for Panda now is 20k. So the premium % is lower if it drops to 27k now.
but allocation for panda/black daytona still the same. even it was cheaper
i had to spend 100k USD to get mine in an overseas AD in 2020 end - back then panda was only trading about 31-32k (but i was given 3 x oysterflex daytona ceramic, however, those were dog pieces in 2020, easy to sell but almost rrp)
i got a friend in US that help me got them
RRP for panda is around 18.9k in 2020

its not any easier now.
now, you get panda faster than a oysterflex daytona

Do you have any theory as to why the ADs are especially “protective” of the Panda? As in when the demand is not so high at that time, they have the same set of qualification criteria as when it is selling at 3 times above the retail price? they have loosen criteria for Pepsi, Batman, but just not the Panda. It’s like an endangered species. Lol

Yeah it is harder to get a Oysterflex Daytona now (same as what my AD is telling me)

So you got the high in demand sports model request fulfilled already? Unless she is pulling a fast one on me. I asked and reply is that the stocks delivery is way too low and no estimation of allocation yet. In general, can expect to wait longer for it.
Maybe I’m not VIP customer like you. Haha.
Which piece that u r waiting that u asked her? It’s also possible that due to earlier allocated pieces that affect your current to be allocated piece. It’s after all decided by thg approval team

Precious metals rose during the pandemic if not oysterflex daytona can be easily allocated. After getting my sub nd in 2019, my other AD allocated chocolate oysterflex for me however my friend wanted it so I gave the chance to her.

Actually I wasn’t expecting to get the piece I’m waiting for now. I know I haven’t exactly waited that long. It was more of a casual chat, just to find out how things are going. So when she said delivery are way too low and won’t be my turn soon, it feels that the allocation isn’t happening faster than before (I mean I thought that given the way how demand drops in secondary market, I thought there is a chance the allocation might happen a bit faster). Thanks anyway for your advice. Fully noted. I told her I will visit her next month and she said most welcome.

What’s the deal with Lange pieces? Is it they have amazing finishing? What makes them so special that so many are raving about them. Haven’t seen them in person before but they appear quite bulky in videos. Can someone drop some knowledge please

Lange is one of the most respectable watch brands alongside PP and VC. The only thing why they are less recognised than PP I guess is due to a shorter history. Other than that, they are tremendously highly rated. Love the way how some of their dial looks. It’s so beautiful. The only reason why I won’t be getting Lange is because my watch buying budget is totally locked with Rolex and PP

It depends..technically A. Lange & Sohne has a longer history as it was founded in 1845 as the company czapek established with patek in 1839 was patek, czapek & cie & It was dissolved 6 years later and only in 1851 when Philippe became a full partner then patek Philippe & co was formed. Took yr advice to read up the history bro..🤨

I put Lange right beside Patek (apart from indies)
They are not part of the big 3 because it's not Swiss made. But I put them right above AP AND VC
Only problem it was shut down after the war and revived much later and own by richemont.
If they were independently owned, lagi jialat, even harder to get.
They only make 1/12 of what Patek makes annually.
People who owns lange knows what they are doing.

Thanks for sharing. I always read your posts with interest as your knowledge in watches is very extensive. I think you are quite spot on about AP. As for VC, I do read somewhere they are like in the same league as PP but of course such analysis are often subjective. Its a bit sad that they (Lange) are not in the big 3 because they are not Swiss made isn’t it?

Thanks for your sharing. Yep I may not know everything about watches. Actually to be frank i‘m not that many years into watches yet. 😂
I always thought PP is so highly regarded because they are the oldest independent watch maker in the world. But seems lIke Lange is even longer.
Can tell you are not that impressed with PP 😁

Nah. I ok only. Still got more to learn

Big 3 or holy trinity is because of finishing, history and grand comp movement. That's also why rolex isn't part of the big 3. Rolex is a middle range luxury watch only.
Lange is German made. That's why they are not part of the big 3 since watch making has always been the Swiss thing.
Another one is JLC. Watchmaker's watchmaker. Not sure why they are not part of the big 3. They have history, movements but I think missing the finishing part.
But now the holy trinity thing, not alot people talk about it anymore. Just something I still follow.
For me
AP - Case and bracelet finishing the best
PP - Movement finishing one of the best
VC - movement finishing solid

The fact of it is Lange is easier to access. Step into the boutique pay a deposit and you can get hold of one. Yes even the Lange 1.
I notice quite a few Lange supporters I know, not sure when did they started buying langes or do they even own 1, aren’t PP fans..mainly because they have no access to PP or didn’t even try.. they somehow have the impression PP is very difficult to buy.
ALS has nice finishing but I personally find it too thick. I’m slim so it won’t go well.

No lah, I have always like PP as they have one of the best finishing.
Although I am not an original owner of PP, I do enjoy my wrist time. Probably, I am just envious of you lol 😂 but no offends..

I used to have the misconception with German watchmaker due to their thickness and gothic looks however I was pleasantly surprised that Lange Odysseus can sit on my small wrist well without looking like lugs overhang.
For me, It is not difficult to buy PP like world time or annual calendar from the boutique but whether do they fit me..
Although I am not really a Lange fan, I do hope I can own 1 in the future after I have become original owner of patek and realised the recognitions..😂 no hard feelings bro..
