A fellow newbie here. Was wondering how can someone who is new to luxury watches can purchase a Rolex in SG.

I have informed ADs of my interest in models like the Sub, Explorer etc but till date still no reply, could someone shed light on the average waitlist time for popular and not so popular models?

Do I have to purchase something from them to clock up "mileage" or do most purchase from other watch shops (not ADs)?

Try your luck overseas when Covid situation improves. The chances of scoring anything desirable here without a purchase history is close to zero.

Purchase a less popular model like datejust or daydate. If you don't mind grey market, then just pay a bit of premium.

Not guaranteed even if you have some purchase history from AD at least from my experience. i have been waiting for 2 years and counting for a sub no-date.

thats how the market is now..if you really like a particular rolex model just get it from grey dealers and pay the premium. not willing (like me) then just explore other brands

Actually what/who are grey dealers in Singapore? Any recommendations for one, and is the warranty from them valid?

Sg grey dealers are basically resellers of pieces from AD (at a premium mostly for sports models). U will get the Rolex warranty.

But if u buy online grey dealer eg jomashop, no Rolex warranty, only in-house.

Hey guys, I'm thinking to buy my first Rolex and considering getting a Pepsi. I think Pepsi is the most beautiful sub/gmt style watch, especially the latest MK3 production that Rolex has refined the bezel colors. I know it's impossible to buy from the AD and I don't think it makes sense for them to sell me at RRP when they can quickly profit from selling to the grey market.

Let say if there is a reputable grey seller with a local storefront, selling brand new / unworn local AD set, dated less than a week ago for $26,500 cash. Would it be a reasonable price to pay currently? I have tried putting the same parameters on chrono24, and the result was min S$30k, not sure how accurate it's lol. Dated a few days ago kinda important to me cause that's the closest feeling to buying from an AD, I know it's silly but yah.

Not sure if there's a similar watch profile in the local market now, just thinking of the possible permutation and be mentally prepared.

And if that price is from a shop with a store front, you can perhaps shave a few hundred off with a private seller on Carousell. Just pay $50 to get it authenticated.

Saw one carouseller selling 25.8k for a brand new 2020 set, agree with above that you can get a better price from a private seller instead.

Yah, I think the price fluctuate so much within these few months till I not sure what's the fair price now. lol I saw a recent 3 days ago carousell post sold @ 26.8k https://sg.carousell.com/p/rolex-126710blro-gmt2-pepsi-1026604235/ though I not sure how accurate or reliable it is.

Likely that piece was sold at a $500-$1k discount.

If you want to get, get it soon, I only see prices going further up north as the supply is so limited right now due to lockdowns all over the world.
