Thank you for the headsup! (y) Now i see why so many people turn to grey for their watch, premium is not that high nowadays and don't have to play the AD game
With the current premiums for AP, going grey makes so much more sense if you only want 1 specific watch.

Don't have to waste your time and money by supporting 1159

Hahahhaha….. not really an interview lah, but they do try to get to know you to ensure you not a flipper…… I did find the overall service every time I am at their boutique to be exceptional…..

Planning on a trip down to watch exchange to view Hulk. Looks like now is a good time to buy since prices are relatively on the low side.

Wanna get the advice from peeps here:

Wife just got allocated a watch (she likes it, DJ model) but we are contemplating if we should purchase overseas instead for the tax savings.

or should we build our purchase history for a eventual GMT/daytona etc?

From the way your question is being phrased, let me know if the below assumptions are right or wrong:
1)You go to this overseas country where your target Rolex retailer is located at rather frequently for business / leisure
2)You may already have an existing relationship with an overseas Rolex retailer

If the answers is no to above, then I’m not sure what would really entice you to forgo a potential relationship with a local retailer (assuming your long term objective is to build relationship and profile for eventual allocation of the sports models)?

Depends on how much you plan to spend really. Popular GMT and Daytona models typically require house brand purchases AND a significant total spend with the local AD. If you have no plans to fulfill either requirements you are better off buying where ever is cheapest or from grey.

U think this variation of DJ is also available overseas when u want it?

Very unlikely u r their first choice if a GMT or Daytona becomes available at the overseas AD

If you can guarantee that you can even get the model you want overseas you should then go for it.

Bluntly put, getting GMT/Daytona is based on a mixture of your total spend + what you've supported thus far since your last allocation. Having add 1 DJ purchase to your history won't really make any difference unless you intend to frequently purchase house-brands and etc from said AD.

I am missing the oysterflex also... Not sure if I wanna get one.
Finally bought one with oysterflex. I think this is the end of my Rolex watch collecting journey.
