The AD that is exclusive distributor of Hublot. I got the classic fusion and sold at a loss of 5k. Allowed to queue Pepsi and waited for 8 months for it. Was also allocated the SD43 SS while waiting for the Pepsi.
That‘s why I did mention that the seniority of the sales person is also critical. Another sales person of the same AD require that I spent at least 50k on the boutique exclusive brands with him before I can be considered for a Pepsi. Maybe it also help a bit that I started this profile building thing early. I’m not sale if this sales person (who allocated the Pepsi to me) will do the same for a new customer that just start with her in 2021 or this year. Every year the maximum number of watches I will buy is 3 and I will sell one of it to at least have some funds to continue buying. So I’m not bothered at all by the long wait at the AD
Not sure if you receive a lot of pm to refer your boutique manager sa. Haha.. she also suggest to me to buy a hublot to expedite for a daytona panda.. but I’m not exactly a daytona fan to begin with. So I went the patek route. My spouse has violent objection on a hublot purchase

No right or wrong move. Buy what you like end of the day. Patience is a key as well.

Not bad to secure a sd43 too. If you can carry off the sd43, tbh maybe long term u might not want that pepsi that much. Might even be like myself eye other models instead. Hee.

It’s all about purchase journey and total value of purchases. So I rather pay more for patek instead of buying “rubbish” like hublot. Eg I would prefer to spend 200-300k to obtain my nautilus and aquanauts and Daytona than to spend 15-50k on a hublot which only serves a single purpose. If I wanted to start hublot, would have done it 12 years ago with my sa. And I’m of the age now where it’s appropriate to begin the patek journey since it does help for the Rolex allocations too. I don’t have any non popular models in my collection, never sold any in my collection either . Aquanaut is nice, will be collecting mine soon. Hopefully within this year, couple watch to my wife’s 5268. I have the same SA as another member here, that’s why I don’t have to clock unnecessary purchases and starting very early helps a lot in current climate. The most important thing is to be patient in your purchase journey. I personally find it ironic when people can’t wait when it’s about a purchase of a luxury item. Going to resellers/Grey dealers just takes the kick out of it. In the past, we potentially go to grey to try to get a better deal than via ADs, it’s funny to compare where it’s a totally opposite scenario now.

I believe we're having the same SA judging from the posts haha and alot of members here are her clients too, my wife collected her 7300 olive last month and i'd given up on nautilus since the bar is so high now atm
and starting to appreciate their dress watch as some looks sporty too
Agrees that patience plays a very important part in the purchasing journey , if we can't get what we want just look forward to the new release yearly there bound to be something that'll caught our eyes

I see! Thanks for the explanation!

I believe to each his/her own.

Some people wouldn't mind having a collection of watches, while some only want one, which explains the difference haha.

Yes I did received PM but politely declined. i got to be a bit selfish. I did refer to the boutique manager SA but only to close friends.
I find it alright to buy a basic Hublot just for once which I did for the Pepsi. After that no more Hublot for me as I do not like the watch at all, even if I selling it.
i also waiting for Patek this year to journey for Daytona Panda and Aquanaut. I may also go for the left hand GMT if possible. Still waiting as the Patek piece I looking at only come once a year or so. It still hasn’t arrive this year so far

To be precise, it was a 45% loss I experienced for that Hublot piece. Bought it at 10.8k after discount (there is still discount for Hublot that time but now no more discount) and I sold it via grey dealer as consignment piece at 6k.

He high level…
No, not high level, just a normal customer.
if you support the AD (it should be the SA of higher seniority), he or she will support you in return. Thats all I can say.
I would also say that perhaps I start early buying from AD and it helps, as with a profile, it is easier for that SA to submit approval for allocation application with their mgmt

Different folks different preferences. Some prefers to get their hands on what they like as quickly as possible, as you have rightly put it, why wait? It is also true that time and tide waits for no man. For me, I will just wait, maybe it sounds crazy, I think there is also an element of fun and excitement with that waiting.

True, no right or wrong. It’s really the needs and preferences of the individual. Pepsi has always been one of the models of Rolex I loved the most. I like SD43 as it has greater presence for a diver’s watch (more so than the black Sub) and I think my wrist size is ok to wear it. A 43mm Rolex sports is the biggest size I will wear. I will not go for the Deepsea 44mm

Must thank ADs for broadening horology culture here. Maybe for every 50 who buy hublot for “journey” reasons 1 will convert to hublot fan? :ROFLMAO:
