you know what, in jb, most shops support tng. still, for those shops don't support tng, u can use tng transfer money to their bank account to pay your bill. For my every single trip in jb in the last half year, I never exchanged 1 single rm cash.
Even when there's no QR code displayed, can always ask seller if you can pay with TnG. (y)

Looks like TNG is popular. So there is a card and separately an app? Are they linked? How to top up the card, and app? When using app need mobile data? Sorry, many questions.

You can use the TNG eWallet to link up with a TNG card, and then top up the value of TNG card from there via phone.

Alternatively pharmacies can top up TNG card.

TNG eWallet requires internet connection.

The only reason I can think of why one would need a TNG card is if driving, else for payments with e.g. stores you can scan their QR or they scan your QR in TNG app, or even transfer via mobile number.

There is also a TNG Visa card but that is something else.

Chiu can buy the TNG card, which is a NFC card. Chiu can link the card to your TNG app.

like the other bro said, Chiu can use the card for parking and toll. If you enable PayDirect in the TNG app, it will auto deduct from your eWallet when chiur nfc card not enough balance. Also chiu can top up your card using TNG app over your nfc phone.

For top up the app, chiu can add your sg debit card to TNG app and top up with no admin fee (that include YouTrip) while credit card has 1% fee.
Alternatively if chiu has Malaysian bank account, chiu can top up TNG app using duitnow (something like paynow here)

otherwise chiu can also buy a TNG PIN from 7-11 and use it to top up TNG app.

You don’t need to have an internet connection to use the ‘Pay’ function in Touch ‘n Go eWallet. Touch ‘n Go eWallet will be able to generate the QR code without an internet connection.

Not all places want to "scan you"

TNG widely accepted even for small shops too.
Small shops simply use their own personal app/QR code to let you scan.
Is like our PayNow in SG.

Just download the app, use SG mobile number + selfie + passport to verify first.
Takes 1-2days to approve.

Then link YouTrip card into the app to topup RM$.
You can also turn on auto-deduct from YouTrip card when wallet is empty,
must manually ON 'Auto-Deduct' button inside TNG.
Just play around. Very easy to use.
