Go Hokuriku region..I did that segment back in Oct 2019 and will go that again when travel is open.

Went Karuizawa(Was with my son so didnt go to the waterfall), Toyama, Alpine Route, Kanazawa, Shirakawago..

Next one will land Tokyo, go up this route, end at Osaka for a few days before flying off. Till then...

Some pictures from that trip is in a thread here..

Just wondering. Why is it that I have a few friends who keep going to just Tokyo. To them Tokyo seems most interesting. They said food n shopping better at Tokyo.

if you only want to shop & dine, Tokyo is certainly best & convenient choice. you can find regional & international cuisines, brands in Tokyo

Great. Thought of storing my yen in the card so do not need to carry too much cash.
Card is available in bigger restaurants, eateries, convenient stores. Of course don't expect mama shop or pasar malam style over there to accept it.

a lot of places is still cash only..
When I was in Tokyo in 2019, almost everywhere accepted the YouTrip card. Smaller towns like Towada is cash only. In the mountains, the eateries will usually accept cash only.

Even in Osaka, Kawasaki, Sendai and Yokohama, a lot of places accept the YouTrip card. Never came across a food/drinks store/shop that didn't accept the YouTrip card.

That’s good news. Card is more convenient.
