I read Hakone is interesting too. Doable in a day trip or one night? Seem like Hakone is best Mount Fuji. So should put before or after Fuji right.
Hakone is one of the best places in the Mt Fuji area.

Is that not the Mt Fuji place u are going to ?
Hakone is easy to get to n from Tokyo so doesn't matter if u go there before or after the Fuji place.

Some people do the Hakone loop as a daytrip but I recommend staying one night there.

Lots of hotels in Hakone but pick a nice ryokan with onsen n not far from the "loop route".
U can enjoy onsen n a nice ryokan dinner and breakfast in a forested hilly area.
It is very nice!

Sorry typo. What I meant is since Hakone is near Fuji, should I proceed there straight from Mount Fuji?

Are u going up to Mt Fuji or somewhere there?

Ya can go to Hakone from Mt Fuji.

Originally when u mentioned going to Mt Fuji, I thought u meant Hakone. Haha
Wrong Presumption on my part.

1) From Tokyo, should I go Hakone or Mount Fuji first? If I only want to allocate one night, should I spend the night at Mount Fuji or Hakone?

2) Is it worth to stay at a night at one of the Disney hotels to cut travelling time to visit a=land and sea?

Can consider going to Hakone on the day of arrival if the flight is arriving at Narita. There's a JR Pass that covers the distance from Narita to Hakone (which is pretty value for money). Can't remember which. Gotta do a bit of research.

Mt Fuji is an active volcano. You can't 'spend the night' at Mt Fuji.

Mt Fuji is officially open for climbing during July and August via several routes. In other periods and during the snow season, climbing Mt. Fuji is prohibited.

The Fuji Five Lake (Fujigoko) region is at the northern foot of the mountain. Hakone is a nearby hot spring resort.

You might want to read these guides.

1. For me, I would stay at Hakone. Can also see Mt Fuji from some parts of Hakone.
As mentioned, Hakone area consists of many hot spring type resorts.
If that isn't your thing, then don't need to go to Hakone.

As for Mt Fuji, I'm not sure what u really want to do there.
As for climbing up the mountain or staying close to the base of Mt Fuji, maybe someone else knowledgeable can help!

2. If u are going to both parks, would be nice to stay at one of the hotels there.
Some hotels there have disney themed rooms.
Save time n money on travel n u can see the fireworks too if room faces the parks.
If room faces tokyo bay, can sometimes see Mt Fuji as well.

There are also airport buses that run straight from airport to the hotels in the disneyland area.
So if u plan to stay at one of the Disney hotels, can consider staying on the 1st day of arrival or last day before departure.
Pls check to see if they are available before booking.

I think if u stay in one of the main Disney hotels, might be able to get early entry...not fully sure on this.

I stayed at Hilton in the disney area. Not one of the main disney hotels but they had disney themed rooms n very close to the parks.
The room also faced tokyo bay n could see Mt Fuji in the morning before clouds covered it up.

Oic. That’s a good idea. It cuts down the to n fro. I read some pple ‘stay at’ Mount Fuji. What do they mean? So after going Mount Fuji, where can I stay for the night before heading back to Tokyo?

Actually hot spring type of resort is so so to me. Not a fan of it but do not detest it.

Are you a hiker/climber? Most people view Mt Fuji from a distance. If you are not a hiker/climber then you won't be going physically to Mt Fuji. There are 4 trails on Mt Fuji and 10 'stations'. There are no bus services to the stations during off-season.

I would suggest (again) to read these guides for a start.

I am definitely not a climber or hiker. After reading I conclude that we will view Mount from one of the stations. Which station would you recommend for Dec?

you should be checking which station is accessible during the period you are going.

I read and discover that the Sunroute Shinjuku Hotel is rather popular as it's convenient. Is it the same as Hotel Sunroute Plaza? How is this hotel compared to Shinjuku Prince Hotel?

If you want to see Fuji-san, Gotemba is not the place to catch a view from..

I've a friend who went 3 times over 3 years and never manage to see fuji-san in the clear before.. :s13:

Suggest you read a guide like this one given, on the ways to see Mt Fuji.
https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6933.html
I initially thought I wanted to go to somewhere so I would be able to see Mt Fuji from its foot to its summit and where there would be nothing between it and I. Getting to such a place turned out to be prohibitive in time and cost, so I settled for Hakone, where I compromised on being to see Mt Fuji during some of my time there and it was convenient to get to. Hakone also has a rural, scenic resort town setting where you can see the top third of the volcano and tour the countryside. You will not have the experience of waking up or sleeping with Mt Fuji as a backdrop.

I guess still need to spend the time and money to stay in a hotel with MT Fuji view. My friend said that would save a trip to the 5th station and it’s much nicer.
