Go to a dentist to get it checked

Most likely the base also rot, then not possible to do RCT again, since the base no longer strong
I went to dental and did ex-ray 2weeks ago, he said cannot see any decay but he help me cut the swell and release the puss out also took antibiotic. But now the swell seem to be back so he did say that is this don’t solve the issue then need to redo RC or do implant liaoz

See how much they want to bar fine u for both the xray and dental record results to take out.

Bring to msia for 2nd opinion. Take my word for it, its more economical

Mine got metal crowning done and no crack on the molar.
But the side of the gum just swell up with a bum, like last time before I did this RC. I am thinking is it worth to redo the RC and crowning with full cost? Or should I just do implant? These are some options provided by the dentist. Just want this problem to be solved once and for all.

You may have receding gum issue like me (gum recedes then easier for bacteria to attack the roots and then may spread to other teeth).

Need to deep clean your gum asap to avoid receding issue deteriorating further if indeed it is a receding gum issue.

Suggest you go to a periodontist to have an assessment of your gum to have a better idea of whether a new RCT is still feasible. If not feasible, then your option is clear.

*PM me for a good JB periodontist if you are keen. Rm150 for periodontal charting. Then +++ if require deep gum cleaning.

implant in sg too expensive .... cannot use medisave also ...
pluck all out and put denture.... cheaper and easy to maintain 🥴 🥴
What are the cons of dentures? Now the usual recommendation is like root canal then implant.

Deep clean your gum first.

If your crown oredi cracked, I would suggest just do implant else the infection will just keep recurring.

*crown will be more lasting if one can take good care of it, meaning avoid eating crispy, hard food to minimise gradually chipping the crown that eventually will chip/crack. So those who have more discipline maybe more suitable for root canal / crown route.
What is considered hard? I like to snack on cashews and peanuts. Still have all my teeth, but the dentists warned me not to eat hard stuff liao.

I have same experience.

Ended up, pulled out the whole RCT-ed tooth, then finally able to see the source of the infection was the decay/rot in the base of the tooth. That's why the bacteria kept coming up to the surface of the gum to infect the gum. The decay/rot part might be small, not visible on X-ray.

Once the root of the tooth rots, no way to save it anymore. Pulling it out is cheap and it solves your recurring gum infection problem.

Don't anyhow deep clean gum

Go google on the risks of deep cleaning gum, one risk is possible detachment of the gum and in future problem big big when gum does not reattach back to the teeth

The infection will keep recurring without deep gum cleaning. My regular dentist told me to go periodontist to solve the gum issues once and for all.

Once I deep gum clean = no more gum infection.

If a person is younger = higher chance for the gum to attach back.

For older people = lower chance for the gum to attach back.

If don't deep clean, the bacteria will just having a gateway into the roots.

I didn't do my implant there but periodontal check up there. Once have gum issues, then the dental check up is about once every 5 months (these check ups will replace the regular dental check ups). It's a long term maintenance cost.

*implant I will still do in spore due to higher risk of complications.

Recommend it.

But likely to do in Malaysia.
The end to end cost here can be a bit steep about 4-5k per implant and iirc cannot claim medisave.

In Msia also 5K but MYR.

CC instalment also siong, cannot earn points.

someone recommend it there.

Anyone done a tooth implant before? For molar.

I have a broken molar and the dentist is suggesting this.

What was your personal experience like and what was the final overall cost?

Any long term issues?
Implant start from 3k at least

Wah didn't know can fall off

I was also under the impression that the implants would be permanent and would not fall off.

You need to do the many sessions of exhausting bone grafting if you don’t have enough bone to support the implants.

Dentists are now in the same category of car salesmen & property agents trying to earn more money for their dream cars and landed houses.

If you have company dental benefits, go to a periodontist to check (estimate total cost maybe about $1200 if only one part of you whole set of teeth is required).

The bacteria likely to have oredi seeped below your gum line and dentists can't clean below the gum line. If you don't clean it = your gum will get detach further and further away from your tooth/teeth that will result in more complications.

Hope yours is still in stage 2 if indeed is a periodontal disease. If in stage 3, then gum re-attachment will have to depend on self healing power:
