i just bought m800 for a week! and after i cover my lid to let it go into sleep mode and i open the lid again, my com hangs! no matter i use the fingerprint to log in or the password log in, it will just hang... any one experience it b4? it was alright a week ago, now, crap starting to happen -.-

Im no expert.But i think u could try getting the latest drivers for your graphics card.I experienced this problem and after downloading the drivers it was ok.Perhaps u can try it too.

What are your Toshiba Laptop temperature readings?

Hey guys, I'm trying to gather some sample temperature readings of the protege and toshiba laptops. Mine had been runing exceptionally high recentlly and giving me lots of crashes/reboots/BSOD.

Would you like to participate by running this simple tool, say over a period of few hours or even days and ideally run some CPU/HDD intensive application or games to stress the system (i.e. sustained CPU usage >80% for few minutes).

The utility is HWMonitor (simple exe file, no installation required), can be downloaded at http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php

What are the info to be noted?

To make it simple, I just need:

Laptop Model/Part No: e.g Satellite M200-P430 or PSMC6L-01D004
OS: e.g Vista Business
RAM: e.g. 3GB DDR2
CPU Type: e.g. Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo
CPU Core Max : Higher of the 2 if Dual Core

Duration: e.g. 8hr of running HWMonitor

Does anyone know any decent replacement DVD-RW drive for the Toshiba M800. Currently, there is a f*****g lousy Mat****a UJ862 writer in it that does not want to read DVDs other than Region 3. I want to get rid of it and put in another drive, preferably Liteon or LG, but I don't know what are the compatible drives. Can I put any half-height drive in it? I should have checked the specs before I bought this laptop

Just got a M800, black one. Nothing to complain so far, except that my model doesn't have HDMI, and I need to use the VGA port for my external LCD. Not as sharp as my previous DVI connect, but still good though. Hope this lappy will last long and won't bother me with problems

Hi.. i bought M800 from about 1 month plus le.. i often got this problem that my laptop cannot shut down and just hang at logging off screen. So i have to force shut down it.

It usually happens when i put in my thumb drive. Starting i thought is thumb drive problem but after changing thumb drive,sometimes also cannot shut down when there are problems like such as program cannot run. I dunno is windows problem or the laptop problem... Anyone also got same problem? Any advice to solve it?

Hi,

I recently reformatted my Satellite A80 and reinstalled all the required drivers.
I realise after the reformat and reinstalling Windows and programs, there is a 2sec lag between what I type and what appears on the screen (in Word or in Firefox).

Anyone got an idea of what could possibly be wrong?
I have installed my ATI graphics driver already.
