the buffet is other places in Shanghai, not in yuyuan.

i had some food at the food court in yuyuan old street, but nothing fantastic. I don't think yuyuan old street is a place for food.
seriously, i wonder y would u want to go for buffet in SH when there are so many quality restaurants as compared to SG.
Western, French, Japanese, Cantonese, Italian food in general are of better quality and more affordable in SG. Nicer environment as well.

Same here - nothing much to do in Shanghai except for Disneyland

Food are way over hyped and expensive to boot - many of the same food can be found in other cities for much lower prices

We also went to the much-hyped warehouse cafe - food was so-so niah - go for experience so once is enough

Nothing much to buy back - maybe the butterfly cookie

We were also in Beijing and found it to be better and more interesting
agree, I first arrived at Shanghai, sleep 1 night then go suzhou >> hangzhou then back to SH. I realized most of the food I have tried at suzhou and hangzhou at much more afforable price and less crowded.

If you’re dropping by Greenhouse Gardens (their version of gardens by the bay) then can pitstop at Panlong Xintiandi for dinner on the way back. It’s way better than the Xintiandi in downtown

why not? If i want Cantonese food, i rather go Canton. I fly to Fukuoka after Shanghai, so I won't eat any Japanese food in Shanghai. As for European food, I don't think I will go to China for European food.

And I don't see anything wrong with going for Buffet, especially the 全球岛 which was opened just 2 months when I was there. And buffet there is also much cheaper, better and more variety than those in SG.

I am surprised you didn't talk about 小笼包, 排骨年糕, 煎饺, 黄蟹壳, 八宝炖鸭. These are the food that one should try in Shanghai.

Bring your tripod and DSLR to The Bund at night to take night shot.

On touch down, buy a HSR rail using your foreigner passport to experience 430300+km/hr to reach Loong Yang station...
Correction: it was 430Km/hr in the year 2011. I understand it's only 300+Km/hr nowadays as it was too expensive to maintain the rails to keep it flat for the higher speed.

People's square

Pudong and their shopping mall owned by the tycoon.

The expensive 紫荆山 hotel & its indoor warm water swimming pool for guests to swim during winter.
I think it was like S$200+ or was it $500+ per night excluding breakfast. Breakfast was RMB188 and we all ran out to eat outside. You'll have buy a swimming cap to swim there to minimize hairs clogging up the pool I think.

Natural history museum to see dinosaurs and it's replicas...

Zoo to see panda?

Go to the Raffles city at People's square to see Singapore's styled shopping mall...

The rest all forgotten...

The rest forgotten...

Yup, traffic jam is the biggest humbug there

I think now improved a lot compared to the past like 10 years ago when I had to go China for work - returning to Shanghai from nearby towns can take up to 3 hours from the outskirts to reach our hotel in the city centre

A lot probably alleviated by the efficient MRT system - I think they have 19 lines now or something hahah

go raffles city Shanghai and support Singapore's capitaland la.

enjoy the fruits of Sino-SG relationship...
Used to be the place to go to shop and see chiobus. Now only the basement food court you get to see some of them. Like Singapore, many large shopping malls sprung up in remote satellite towns and people tend not to come to the city center to shop. Only tourists drop by to check out the place.

was making a comparison between buffet meals and restaurants meals in SH, never discounting local SH food. But if you insist buffet, then i respect your choice. Just that you are really missing out alot in SH.
And was making comparison w SG standards, of cos countries of origins should be better.
btw, 小笼包,排骨年糕,煎饺,黄蟹壳, 八宝炖鸭 i eat until sianz, one year eat more than my fingers & toes count.
