I do not think TP-Link EB810v (or other TP-Link Service Provider models like HB710 and HB410 from Starhub, HB810 and HB611-SGST) supports HomeShield Security feature.

Oh, mine is M1. The default built in security it is good enough.
First time using TP Link BE805. Being using Asus routers for many years.

Then you should use another thread as this thread is specific to EB810v.

Anyway, personally I see no point. Rather the common sense about security is more important. Or you can use things like Pi-hole or Adguard Home as the DNS server for your router to improve the security. Your endpoint (Windows, Android, iOS, etc) protection is also important.

On the other hand if you are willing to pay, just go ahead.

Hi, I was planning to buy a cheap TP-Link EX520 to mesh with my existing HB710. Can anyone confirm whether these routers will mesh smoothly with each other (Both are Aginet models)

TP-Link EX510 (from Starhub and MR) and TP-Link EX520 (from M1) will work okay as a mesh node for HB710, if you can use Ethernet Backhaul. Just take note TP-Link EX510/EX520 have 1G WAN port so that you will be limited to 1Gbps for the mesh node.

If you have to use wireless backhaul (eg: no LAN ports in the rooms), then TP-Link EX510 and EX520 and are not good choices as they are low end dual band WiFi 6 routers. Another HB710 is probably the way to go in that case.

Does EB810v and hb710 have differences in expected ping for gaming and coverage range?

Singtel contract ending and deciding between starhub and M1.

3 storey landed and only ethernet ports on level 1 And 3 while using WiFi on level 2 (connected to level 3 router).

Was able to get <10ms on Singtel before the router died.

Thinking of going with the starhub promo so 1x hb710 plus 2 more eb810v if it is worth the upgrade.

After using Starhub’s EB810v on my Singtel 10bgps for a while now, i noticed that it is capable of receiving firmware updates.

But i still decided to sell it. The footprint of the EB810v is massive. Luckily can still sell at a profit since i got it cheap.

I then found 2 pieces of HB810 at a crazy $150 price each. Much more compact and similiar specs in general with readily downloadable firmware from Singtel which I prefer.

Checking around, I've seen users on Singtel using it with no issues, but no actual confirmation from MR users.

Currently its more economical for me to get EB810v than to go with MR's BE805 and having to buy additional 2.5g switches.

No. I believe you cannot do that.

It will work but I will say not recommended, there are multiple issues reported in this EB810v thread.

I will recommend to stick to Archer BE805.

No. I believe you cannot do that.

Currently TP-Link EasyMesh does not support MLO backhaul.

Yeah. just tried it ... yup u are rite .. doesn't work.

After turning off (2.4/5G , 6G) + turn on (MLO) on the EB810v (Main router controller).....
- EB810v (Main Router) - only devices near the EB810v gets coverage and connects to the MLO
- 1st. EX510 (Eth backhaul) - (2.4/5G) shows OFF + (no wireless connectivity from nearby devices)
- 2nd. EX510 (wireless backhaul) - (2.4) shows OFF + 5G shows ON and backhauling to 1.EX510 + (no wireless connectivity from nearby devices)

You should connect via ethernet backhaul to create the mesh

router in db - ethernet cable to corresponding patch panel to ur study

then in ur study connect ethernet cable to ur router

it should auto detect as ethernet backhaulmesh

For those who have 2 x EB810 from starhub, can share more details on your mesh setup? My internet constantly drops after awhile, aginet app unable to login, and has to reboot the main router every 1-2 hours. Tried both Ethernet and wireless backhaul. Starhub came down and replaced both routers and still it didn’t work. I’m running smart devices (lights, switches and plugs) on my 2.4g using WPA2 with 20mhhz. Right now I switched off my 2nd HB810 node and I added my good old AX72 router using open mesh and there is no problem at all. Clearly this is a HB810 mesh problem. I’m damn frustrated with this constant debate with Starhub that it’s a device problem.

Clearly I’m not alone in this problem
