Yes, that is correct. EB810v has three 2.5G ports.

I believe 10G wired device will still not be that common even in 2028 when the target for the Singapore government is t have 50% of the household on 10Gbps plan. 2.5G wired device may get very common at that time.

Hi gurus, just gotten onto the 10gbps plan and currently using this router. Did a speedtest using Ookla app and my download speed is 2199mbps whereas my upload is 3105mbps. Currently using a TPlink TX401 10g network adaptor card which is installed on the last pcie slot of my Gigabyte Z690UD mobo. Any advise on what I could have done better? I am using a Cat6a cable btw. Much appreciated as I am not too au fait with networking.

A few suggestions.

1) Firstly you can check out the built-in OOkla SpeedTest within the EB810v router to see if the speed is above 7Gbps. Lastest FW update should have this function already. This is to make sure Starhub side is good.

2) This TP-Link TX401 network adapter (as well as Asus xg-c100c) is known to have issues, especially under Windows. Both are using Marvell chipset (AQC107 or AQC113C) and not very good, even though they are popular.

3) If you are using 3rd party (non Microsoft) Antivirus or security related programs, disable them temporarily to see if that heps.

4) Some users need to reinstall Windows to get the high speed. You may want to try to use Linux (say -- using an external USB SSD) to see if you get better results under Linux. The Marvell chipset seems to perform better under Linux or macOS (USB 4/TB4/TB3 version).

5) If you still cannot get it work, you may want to switch to Intel based 10G NIC to have better results, for example, Intel X540-T2 based dual 10G NIC which can be very cheap from Taobao (say under S$40). You may want to buy those with a fan as they tend to be hot.

Hey guys, just switched to starhub 10gbps as well using the eb100v router. Starhub tech connected my previous router mx2100 in 1 of the rooms. Appreciate some advice on my queries pls.

1) Is it possible to convert this mx2100 to an access point? Cos I'm seeing my previous network SSID, likely it's from this mx2100.
2) Connected to the eb100v network and WiFi speed test only returns 1.3gbps. built in speed test shows 8gpbs. What could be the issue?

1) An access point is also a WiFi broadcaster, so it is normal to have the SSID. If you do not need it, just switch it off.

2) Linksys MX2 (MX2001) will not be able to mesh with EB810v. That is why it is better to use a different SSID for the EB810v and Linksys MX2. Starhub recomends EB810v to mesh only with EB810v or HB710.

But if you really want to try, you can set up the Linksys MX2 and EB810v to have the same SSID and password to see if roaming works for you or not.

3) 8Gbps is the speed from EB810v to the Internet, wired speed. That means Starhub side is good. Wireless speed will be much lower, depending on your clients. What is your client for the testing? 1.3Gbps is not bad for WiFi.

It is a common mis-understanding to think you can utilize the 10Gbps plan bandwidth (about 8.2Gbps or 8.3Gbps max) using wireless device. In reality it is not possible.

4) 2x2 AX/AXE/BE 80MHz, 1024QAM, up to 1201 Mbps, real world speed is at about 600Mbps to 900Mbps.

5) 2x2 AX/AXE/BE 160 MHz 1024 QAM on 5GHz and 6GHz (6GHz is only for Wifi 6E or WiFi 7), up to 2402 Mbps, real world speed is at about 1Gbps to 1.8Gbps.

8) As of now, WiFi 7 MLO feature is not mature so the speed may not be able to break 4Gbps barries. In the future 5GHz/6GHz MLO may break 4Gbps barrier (or 6GHz-1/6GHz-2 MLO in places where 6GHz-2 is approved).

Hi, thanks for the prompt reply!

1) Yes, I just checked. Using the Aginet to test, speed is 4.5gbps. Ookla app is below 2gbps with antivirus and firewall switched off.

3) Yup, disabled.

4) Reinstalling, I think this would be the last resort.

AP --> other brand also can. AP based solution may or may not be able to have seamless roaming.

TP-Link Easymesh --> EB810v can mesh with either EB810v or HB710, as recommended by Starhub.

TP-Link Deco Mesh --> Deco mesh is more mature than TP-Link EasyMesh.

Hi, just signed up for starhub 10Gbps and was given TP-Link EB810V router but got intermittent connection. Every 15-20' got disconnected. 5.0Ghz network can't change to auto channel and bandwidth, seems like this is a very common issue that many users are encountering with the latest firmware (0.14.0 3.0.0 v608b.0 Build 240709 Rel.56868n). I'm currently plugin old router Linksys EA7500, stable connection. So I presume it's the problem of EB810V. Is there any solution to this? I intend to call starhub customer service and have them to replace EB810V but don't think this will solve the issue till the new firmware is release? Thank you!

For your disconnection issue, did you have band steering and MLO enable? Try disable this features and it may help. You can try to call StarHub customer service if issue persists, but don't expect any useful advice from them. It could be really the router or ONT issue and they can offer to replace it.

Regarding the issue of 5.0Ghz network can't change to auto and other channel/channel width (it is always stuck at channel 44 and 160 Mhz), it is a known issue and Starhub just don't bother to address the issue. There is no way to communicate this to the StarHub backend team. The front end customer service team and follow up team are not able to get any meaningful response from the backend team. Even the so called senior Starhub trooper attended to me also can't do anything. He could only report the issue to Starhub and it fall on deaf ear again. Judging from past 2 FW updates, Starhub only updates FW every 6 months. We can only wait for next update and hope for miracles

I have a question about 'link rate' for devices connected to the EB810V via a ethernet switch.

My Hasivo S600W-4GT-2XGT-SE arrived today and I've connected it to my EB810V.

I can see on the Aginet app that my LAN connections on the switch are wired, but the link rate is shown as '0 Mbps'. Is this normal?

The connections are fine and all my devices are accessible to internet, but I'm curious to see the link speeds. I don't see the switch as a device connected to the router, and I assume that this is normal......

Is anyone able to help me with my query? Thanks......

I have the HB810 from SingTel.

Under Network Map > Wired Clients, my PC which connected at 10Gbps also shows the Link Rate at 0Mbps. I suppose this is just a graphical glitch.

i have been using the starhub eb810v router for a few months,
seem there is some memory leak (have update to latest firmware still same problem), have to reboot every week before it run out or memory or it will crash itself and restart the router.

anyone else have this problem?
