What do you say of EB810v + HB710 vs Be85 + BE85 if intelligent roaming + smart, seamless device movement across rooms is priority

If money is not an issue, for sure Deco BE85 x 2 (TP-Link Deco Mesh) is a way better mesh solution than EB810v + HB710 (TP-Link EasyMesh).

For me just 1 EB810v router covered my whole unit wifi.

Using the StarHub EB810v system for the past year. Current setup consists of 3x EB810v mesh units.


From my main router, I have a switch connected, which distributes around 12 LAN outputs to different rooms in the house.


Issue:
Starting this week, all LAN outputs from the switch suddenly stopped working. Devices connected to the LAN ports still receive internal IP addresses, but I can't ping them or access the network from those devices.


Troubleshooting so far:

1. I bypassed the switch and connected some LAN points directly to the main router — and they worked fine.
2. I replaced the switch with a new one — but the issue persists, so it doesn’t seem like a faulty switch.
3. Restarted the entire network: modem, main router, mesh units, and switch — no improvement.
4. Disabled all mesh routers except the main one — issue still remains.
5. Reviewed and amended DHCP address reservations — no change.

It seems the switch is passing DHCP but failing on actual network communication. Looking for further suggestions or insight.

I have 2 EB810V at home but there are still one bedroom which have weak wifi. Can I buy 1 BE85 mesh as node to support the wifi signal? Is it compatible?

Not compatible in terms of mesh technology.

That's when buyers need to do their own research before commiting with purchases.

Maybe make sure Transmit Power is on high in case it changed (think its default anyway, but you never know).

Singtel’s HB810 is also compatible with EB810v. I meshed these 2 before

Sound like a hardware issue since it worked for a year and suddenly failed? Have u tried swapping for mesh nodes eb810v for main router and factory reset them?

swapping and factory reset not yet. last resort if i can't figure out would be to do so

Please help as I am setting up this setup as shown but not sure if EasyMesh has been successfully enabled or not. I have this EB810v since initial setup and just bought the HB710 today and just hooked up directly to one of the port in EB810v.

• EB810V in DB Box in Living Room
• HB710 as Mesh/Node to distribute Wifi to all other rooms (in center room via ethernet connection from DB box)

When I tried to login to tplink to setup, everything has been automatically setup. I tried to go to the Mesh menu to add mesh devices but did not work. (It could not find the Mesh Devices)

I tried resetting the HB710 but it immediately start flashing blue and become green (connected) once I plugin.
My question is :

1. Is my current setup EasyMesh? or is this just an automatic AP mode?
2. How do I setup EasyMesh if the HB710 just automatically connect?

Have you tried the "Reset to Agent" option?
It seems to be the action that you need to do.

Just to share that my EB810v router wifi 6Ghz not stable and keep dropping so i called support CSO to refer to backend then next day they push down a patch remotely to resolve the issue. Good that I am using ISP router.

Much worse than Archer BE800.

HW is similar, FW is crippled and buggier than Archer BE800.

If not how TP-Link can sell Archer BE800 when EB810v is much cheaper.

For its price, EB810v is of great value though. But you cannot compare it with Archer BE800.

I’m about to have 5 gbps XGSPON installed with 1 x EB810v + 1 x HB710. $45.37 per month all in ($0 upfront).

But the comments on this thread are worrying me.

Should I cancel my order and just go with SingTel?

SingTel 5Gbps offering is much worse with ONR plus two HB611-SGST (2.5Gbps only, triband BE11000 only). HB611-SGST is also using TP-Link EasyMesh technology.

With wifi 6Ghz my wifi speed is at least more than 1000 mbps say 1200 to 1600 mbps for my work laptop. Some more with office VPN. Very good to wfh. If use Wifi 7 laptop will be even faster.
