Bro, did u manage to solve the WiFi sticky issue?

I set up my eb810v on my Tv console in the living room.. Then ethernet back haul to DB box patch panel, and use a BE550 as a mesh satellite in my MBR.

But eveeytime Im on 6ghz in the living room, my s24ultra won't automatically transfer to the be550 in my MBR.
Hi Bro,

"Bro, did u manage to solve the WiFi sticky issue?"
Kinda Yes & No...

The Wifi Sticky issue is resolved on wireless backhaul setup ...
but the issue still persist when i use wired backhaul.... so i just stay with wireless backhaul lor.... I wrote to TP-link about this ... and the answer is ... go talk to Starhub ...

On your query about the 6Ghz....
I turned off my 6GHz & MLO Network on my EB810v cos my nodes (EX 510) does not support 6Ghz ... so no point.. and Xiaofan is correct .. the meshing seems to be limited within the 2.4GHz/5GHz Wireless Network... I tested this a while back ... and the hand off between the 2.4GHz/5GHz Wireless to 6Ghz isn't seamless (ie: observable disconnect then reconnect.)

I see, I'll tend to connect to 6ghz in my living room which eventually disconnects when I go into my MBR and then the phone auto connects to the 5ghz network

Just sucks cos it definitely looks like it be patched by a software update.

Maybe thatz why Starhub was giving out EB810v "free" when they asked existing users to do free upgrade from 1Gbps to 5Gbps .. .. maybe they don't wanna support and trying to clear out their existing stock for the router.. ?... donno just speculating..

TP-LINK has confirmed that they are preparing the update for the firmware for this router. I just received their email and I suggested some new features for the firmware.

Where you see this free EB810v promotion.

It was earlier part of this year... they(I think is their vendor mkt-ing team) called me asking me to upgrade my existing 1Gbps to 5Gbps and no extra charge + throw in a router.. the condition is to sign 2 year contract ... then i ok lor ... initially they assigned me a EX 510 ... but nearer to the delivery/installation date.. they told me that they changed it to a EB810v ...

Quite good. Now TP-Link may implement new features so just sit back and relax to see whether they implement my suggestion.

Time to find out for the greater good of the rest that uses SH's TP-Link routers.
Damn silly to make it so difficult just for firmware upgrade.
Okay, have escalated to IMDA after SH's official email response indicating that it's TP-Link's responsibility to update the firmware of the routers.
Let's see how IMDA get them to sort this out, should get a response by mid next week.

Following our earlier conversation regarding your 61-TP-Link EB810V firmware update issue, please be informed that for router configuration or Wi-Fi-related concerns, we recommend contacting the router vendor directly for further assistance.
Our backend checks show that your modem is online and the signal is within specifications, with no issues detected from StarHub’s side.

Router Model: TP-Link EB810V
Vendor: TP-Link Technical Support
Phone: +65 6284 0493 (Available 24/7)

We hope this information is helpful in resolving your concerns. Should you require further assistance with your StarHub services, please feel free to contact us.

So this update will be available through the normal update method ? In the router GUI itself ?

Thats good news.. once they release the updated firmware can update here.. I cannot tahan the disconnect issue until I switch back my old router. Waiting for update

U can workaround it for now by doing a hard reset, and setting all the settings u need and saving it 1 time. I emphasize 1 time as any secondary changes you make to the WiFi antennas will trigger the bug and start the disconnect loop

I suggested to do away this router to go for better router with better specs and a brand that update the firmware regularly. I hope Starhub implement my suggestion as soon as possible.

By right should be. I hope to see their update this weekend or else i will email to IMDA and TP-Link again. Singtel TP-Link HB810 already got their update on 06/06/2025 but Starhub TP-Link EB810v no update yet.
I think something need to be done about it. That is the reason i suggested getting rid of this router and to get a better router with better specs and a vendor who is willing to update their firmware regularly. Do not think users should keep quiet when the situation is so bad recently. Earlier it was very good. Do not want them to put so many of us at risk by not updating our firmware.

Tech came and said there is not new version for EB810v and the firmware also can not update. Tech take photo to show Starhub. I suggest Starhub to do away this lousy router.

So with newly replaced EB810v, firmware is the same and no further firmware upgrades available as per Starhub?

No new router, Tech say this is the latest router and no version 2 and nothing wrong with the router. Support say this router is starhub firmware and only Starhub backend can update the firmware of the router. Next time i will buy own router.
