I just signed up with M1 6Gbps plan, I opted the TP-Link BE805 since I have the Deco xe75 pro pair setup with 6GHz band wireless backhaul for my current 1Gbps network.

Questions.
1. With criteria of least changes to my current setup.
BE805 <-Wired-> xe75 (main-> AP mode) <----wireless ---> xe75 (satellite)
Will above topology work ?
.
I will not tear apart the current deco mesh network first , keep it will double NAT , only after the main router properly setup then change that the main deco unit to AP mode.

Don't want to spend more to get another be805, I do have a left over unopened acher ax72 with me but this is dual band router which I don't want to use the 5ghz band for wireless backbone with easymesh connection.

What is the retail price of m1 dumped BE805 ?

6GBPS is overkilled for me, just number bragging game, I only have 2 wifi 6e devices, no wifi 7 device yet.

1) Your setup will work. But take note that you will have two wireless networks in this case, as TP-Link EasyMesh and TP-Link Deco Mesh are not compatible.

Archer BE805 -- one wireless network
Deco XE75 -- another wireless network

2) More about TP-Link EasyMesh

https://dongknows.com/tp-link-easymesh-wi-fi-system-review/

3) You can of course sell the Archer BE805, the price is about S$300 or below if you sell in Carousell.

The easymesh backhaul can't use dedicated band, not as good compared to the Deco mesh with dedicated backhaul band
What do you think of the performance of the following.

Case1
BE805 < easymesh wireless backhaul> AX72 ( Claims to have 4800 Mbps bandwidth with 5ghz) <-> WiFi 6E device -1
Case-2
BE805 -> lan up to 2.5gbps link xe75pro <6Ghz wireless backhaul>satellite xe75 pro <-> WiFi 6E device -2.

Both AX72 and xe75pro are at located together and with equal distance to the main router/ 1st xe75pro
Do you think case-1 will have better throughput?

Indeed I prefer the less intimidating Deco xe75 at my living hall than the BE805

Hi guys.

Just got a HB710 from my StarHub plan. This HB710 will be setup in my living room beside the ONT.

question- can I go to Carousell and get another HB710 to put in another room (room 2)? Can the first HB710 mesh wirelessly with the second hb710 if there is no wired backup? Thanks

You certainly can.

But do note that wifi mesh might compromise your overall speed.

FYI, I could not get 6GHz Easymesh wireless backhaul to work with Archer BE805 + HB710, only 5GHz wireless backhaul.

Not so sure who has two Archer BE805 units to carry out the test.

@jasonho would like to get MLO as wireless backhaul, but unfortunately I do not think any TP-Link EasyMesh router supports it yet.

@kimsix wants to know whether EHT240 can work with the 5GHz wireless backhaul. Not so sure who has two HB810, or two EB810v, or two Deco BE85 to test out.
Hi xiaofan!

I've been troubleshooting this as well as I could not get 6GHz to work on EasyMesh with Archer BE 805 + HB710. Is this simply not supported?

I am able to get 5GHz ethernet backhaul to work. Thanks! New to all this.

You may want to check with TP-Link to see if they have new FW updates to support 6GHz backhaul. This seems to be a limitation as of now, which may or may not be specific to this combination.

All in all, TP-Link EasyMesh is not that mature as of now.

Thanks I will drop an email support to TP Link then.

Hi, 6GHz backhaul supported only on HB710 + HB710 or EB810 + EB810. For archer series, tested, only 2.4/5GHz backhaul support only. No need to drop email support to TP-Link. You'll get the same answer.

TP-Link Support seems to say otherwise when I emailed them. Below is their exact words.

Still troubleshooting with them as I am already on wired backhaul and both my routers are supplying 6GHz Wifi (just separately, not as a Mesh) unlike 5GHz.

"Thank you for contacting TP-Link Technical Support, we have received your feedback.

Normally, BE805 as the main router and HB710 as the satellite router can form an EasyMesh network through 6G.

1. Could you provide a screenshot of the BE805 web page or the HB710 information in the Tether APP?

So that we can conduct further analysis.

2. In addition, you can try to fix the 6G channel of BE805 to 69 (PSC), and then check whether there is a 6G backhaul:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2292/

3. Then you can try to connect BE805 and HB710 via an Ethernet cable, so that EasyMesh will switch to a wired backhaul.

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/3731/

Then unplug the network cable, and it will switch back to wireless backhaul. Please check whether there is a 6G backhaul at this time.

4. You can also try to keep BE805 and HB710 far apart. Connect your phone to 6G WIFI and then approach HB710 to check if HB710 has 6G WIFI.

We look forward to hearing back from you. If you have additional information or feedback to provide, please feel free to let us know."

I am looking for the same setup too, but with ethernet backhaul.
Will the BE805+HB710 be the solid mesh setup ?

Any suggestions on what to pair with BE805 ?
Anything using TP-Link EasyMesh will not be considered as "SOLID" as of now, just my personal opinion.

If you want better mesh, go for TP-Link Deco mesh or Asus AImesh. That will mean to ditch Archer BE805.

Sorry guys long post here and desperately need advice on how to make this work.

Im on Singtel 5Gbps plan. My Optical network point terminates inside my DBbox together with the LAN connections that links to different areas in the house

Only the ONR can fit into the DB box together with a 8 port switch (cant fit any wireless router in there and anyway its a deadspot in the house)

Without bridging (using double NAT) - I have tried the following connections below (config A + B below) but can't seem to get an ethernet backhaul (wireless backhaul speeds are crap on the area covered by Deco AP mode and/or Hb610 gives crap speeds)

Config A

ONR
10G port -> Switch

SWITCH
LAN -> HB610 AP mode (10g port)
LAN- > Deco BE in router mode (10g port)
LAN -> Deco BE in AP mode (10g port)
LAN -> house video intercom

Config B

ONR
10G -> Deco BE in router mode (10g port)
LAN1 -> HB610 in AP mode (10g port)
LAN2 -> Deco BE in AP mode (10g port)
LAN3 -> Switch

SWITCH
LAN -> house video intercom

Any ideas how i can get the ethernet backhaul set up for the Deco mesh ?

Or enable bridge on the ONR (double NAT routing issues perhaps with the network?) which I'm also having troubles logging into superadmin mode... posted on thread: Singtel 10Gbps ZTE F8648P superadmin password

Thanks in advance for any help/insight given.

Just change the main Deco BE from router mode to AP mode and then Ethernet Backhaul will work.

You cannot use the Deco main node in router mode (Double NAT), since device behind the Deco router cannot be seen by other devices connected to the ONR (which is the main router of the whole home network).

Take note Deco Mesh and TP-Link EasyMesh are not compatible, you may want to use a different SSID for the HB610.

Thanks! But i really want to use the Deco as the router instead of an AP because of the available functions. I guess no other way around this except to run then network as a single NAT? I.e try to bridge the ONR

You need to have the main Deco BE router in the DB Box to use the room LAN ports. The Deco mesh node need to connect to the main Deco directly or through the switch, not through the ONR.

ONR (bridged or not bridged) -- main Deco BE router -- Switch if needed -- Room LNA ports

Bridging the ONR: no Double NAT.
Not bridging the ONR: Double NAT.

Hi guys, i'm on M1 2.5 gbps internet. Looking to upgrade my current mesh router system to HB810, 2 packs, to be connected via ethernet backhaul.

Will HB810 play nice with M1 ? Anyone here using HB810 on M1 ?
