Hi all!

Couldn't find any existing thread for this new product that was just launched by tplink.

Managed to get it today at Tampines challenger for a whopping $339.00!!!
Went home and installed it, so far it works fantastically well! better then my single Asus AC87U

Lai let's share our experience!

Sorry was bz.... here it goes

1. Speed

I avg 480mbps on the speed test, from 1st unit to the last unit, note that I'm using ethernet backhaul

2. Stability

Rock solid so far , I can observe the reception dropping bars as I walk away from the 1st unit upon approaching the next unit the wifi bar started going back up again.

At this price point I'm satisfied!

Can you try with using wireless backhaul? Testing with ethernet backhaul a bit pointless leh. You sure can max out the speed one what. As this is a mesh without dedicated wifi backhaul, interested to see how it performs in real life using wifi backhaul.

Would be interesting to see the results as HWZ article mentioned that it doesn't have a dedicated Wi-Fi channel for backhaul unlike Lyra/Velop. Not sure would it make a huge difference in overall performance.

Haha that would be ideal scenario, will test it out with the ethernet backhaul tonight but from what I can see from online reviews , there is definitely a speed cut...

I'm not the type that does number chasing, as long as it's fast enough to do what I want eg watch youtube on my ipad, can stream movie online good enough ..what I hate previously was the handover from the Asus ac87u to my 2nd router which I setup as a access point in the master bedroom...

Node 2 speed test 250mbps
Node 3 speed test 190Mbpbs

This is without the ethernet backhaul via my ipad.
With I'm getting around 480Mbps, note that I'm on StarHub Fiber 500mbps

Sounds about correct.. Half the speed. As per WDS, repeater.

Oh I see. But if each node is connected via cable then the drop in speed may not happen?

Tp link deco no dedicated wireless backhaul to support the mesh, therefore speed will drop, hence the pricing.

Asus lyra and velop got dedicated wireless backhaul

mesh is to use wifi backhaul,if using wired then better buy normal access point, it's more cheaper and more feature
