Can anyone advise me on how to set up Deco M5 to singtel broadband and TV? I'm hesistant to buy the system cos I am told that it is not easy to setup for Singtel unlike Starhub. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Are you using ONR or ONT?

1) For ONR, no issues. You need to connect Singtel TV box to ONR, set Deco M5 in AP more and connect to ONR. Then set up the mesh units.

ONR - SingTel TV
ONR -- Deco M5 main unit
ONR -- Deco M5 mesh unit if using Ethernet backhaul

2) For ONT, it is not a good idea to use Deco M5 with SingTel as the main router in your case, because it has only two ports.

ONT -- Deco M5 -- SingTel TV, no more free ports. You need to configure Singtel VLAN profile.

3) If you use ONT, recommended way is to keep using existing SingTel issued router. Configure main Deco M5 as an AP and connect it to the SingTel wireless router. No need vlan profile.

ONT -- SingTel wireless router (you can disable WIFI)

SingTel router -- main Deco M5
SingTel router -- mesh Deco M5 if you can use Ethernet backhaul

I just use TP-Link Powerline AV600 for my rooms. It is a very neat Wi-Fi system without additional wires and has been a great help during Covid-19 work from home.

Yes that is an easy solution but the practical speed of the power line will probably limited to 100Mbps for AV600; 200-300Mbps or less with AV1000 and AV2000.

I have 4 D-Link AV2000 adapters and the speed is more like 100-200Mbps. Not bad but just need to take note and not be alarmed by the AV600/AV1000/AV2000 ratings.

have been using it as it comes free from whizcom for the past 1 week. coverage dont seem so good when im using behind a wall. Speed seems to be lower also. anyone has this problem?

It is a normal behavior. Speed will be different across any brand/model when it is passes through walls/doors/furniture (certain materials and the density of it will affect it as well.

- Placement remains key
- If using mesh systems, they should be connected to the master via WIRED backhaul.

I have put both mesh as per the red circle above. Not able to do a wired backhaul as my ONT is near the main door and I have put a linksys router using it as a switch to provide access points to my living and all bed rooms.

You can do a wired backhaul as long as each room has a LAN point.

Perhaps, you can show where your ONT, Linksys Router, Master Mesh Unit, and Slave Mesh units are at. Also, where is your patch panel that links to all the LAN points in the house?

From there, we can then provide some advise.
