With that budget or range... go with any one from the Sony RX100 series.
Or can go with zv e10, can interchange lens if needed next time. E mount range is wide , so I recommend Sony. Either first or second hand should fit the 1k budget. If not go Japan and buy, even cheaper

Long story short, just use phone camera unless you are running for a photography competition or for advertising works.

My photos from 15 years ago on a lousy cheap camera still look damn good now.
I myself move back from handphone back to camera again so that is my perspective after going through the same as ts

But only ts will know himself about his current phone camera and how much more he desire. How good or what is enough is so subjective - that is why I only judge on gpgt

Phone is good enough unless you wanted to take pictures which phone had the limitations.

Some more if no talent 1 like me better dont second guess the phone AI algo. I tried using raw/expert pro mode end up the default point and shoot phone setting (once set up properly for the first time) still better

Use camera still need to post process the photo after that.

Phone just make everything more convenient. Just shot and post in forum can already 👍🏻

I dun process mine. I think fujifilm users also often use jpg output too

in fact I feel that using hp to take nicer pics takes more skills which I didn’t have so I choose the easier way out

but definitely easier to upload on a phone

I used to do batch process in Lightroom until it begins to feel like a drag
Nowadays it’s just Jpeg and that’s it
All I care abt now is low light , smallest lens possible and high enough fps

What do you mean using hp to take nicer pics take more skills 🤔

I only can said using a camera to take, your pics will be more sharper especially if you enlarge the picture.

For me camera is only superior to Handphone if you use bounce flash inside. For outside, nowadays with the phone post-processing don't need camera for static shots.

I can’t compose well on hand phone, adjust exposure, get correct focus fast enough to catch a moment on the phone

that require skill mah. I see my friends take selfie so much better than me.

In the end still had to use an eye level viewfinder and I prefer tactile controls without looking rather than meddling with touchscreen

so essentially I sucks at using hand phone to get my desired output. Maybe it works for others but I can’t

Wanted to snap some photo of my kids for memories, so thought of buying a proper camera

I know some will say HP is good enough, but i just tot of getting something that can snap a better quality photo

any camera expert here to recommend? Mainly taking photo not much videoing

In my opinion, skill is more important than quality. If you don’t mind used camera, Sony A6400 is a very good camera. @keenklee

The kind of camera you buy depends on the activity you are partaking.

I think as a tour with kids, get those small and compact that can go under water one, really fun, but usually night shots not very good.
