Any recent buyers that are having cold feet now?

In my opinion, Brexit is the start of the EU disintegration. Look at this link: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...uggle-to-hold-eu-center-as-brexit-storm-blows

Now other big EU nations (e.g. France) are talking about exiting EU.

This is shocking and no one knows what will happen to the world. For property, no one is sure if this will cause business in Singapore to drop further, interest rate to rise, SGD to weaken/strengthen... etc.

Please remain cautious.

If you factor in worst case scenario, global recession affects Singapore for a few years (don't know when, anybody's guess) but you can still have a stable job and you are comfortable paying the instalments, able to sleep in peace at night not worrying about a roof for your family, I would say go ahead if you are comfortable.

Fortunately, I am not committed to any EC yet and no hurry to get one either. Will see the global situation first and assess my own financial situation before I commit to one.

Good call buddy and I will extend this warning to people that are on the very limit of their pocket. After so many years in the financial industry, I have seen all sorts of people with different risk appetite.

People earn and lose money be it in good or bad times. Yes, even traders lose money, just that the successful ones earn more than they lose :s13:.

The good news is, majority of Singaporeans are on the safe side. However, I find most portfolio of Singaporeans heavily based on properties. It's not a bad thing but just don't over extend.

Does anyone know if I can buy ec with myself as owner and my wife as essential occupier? Both of us are SC

Other than having to qualify for the family nucleus category, is there any issue with mortgage or loan?

Best to go to a bank to do a financial assessment and get IN PRINCIPAL APPROVAL for your loan before you go and submit your E-APP for queue no. It is FOC service. The bank will advise you accordingly of the current rulings and whether you are eligible.
