Raclette? Fondue? Grilled steaks?

Yeah the local cuisine not many variety.

But after a while also tend to eat same places we like. Creatures of preference and habit :)
Yea sorry I was abit too quick but besides dessert lol, those weird cold fish and steamed pork knuckle I really cannot appreciate. Of cos must try but eat frequently I cannot haha.

I have a feeling it is what we are used to eating as kids that we gravitate towards.

Ang mohs not very adventurous when it comes to food. They stick with what they eat growing up.

Actually why not?

I am sure some people go to SG and eat prok knuckle at Raffles City and say the experience is very memorable.

I think it is the state of mind people have when partaking.

If not happy say weather hot feel uncomfortable eat anything also maybe not as happy as if very happy feeling nice and comfortable.

Stress culture?
Yea not saying it's not great.. it's more to say same food (on paper) eaten at different places gives different feelings. Like Italy eat their pasta.. it's cooked al dente, different
from the style in SG even though looks the same.

"Adapted" as how @WW1 Flying Ace puts it. Improved. Made better.

I prefer to just acknowledge "different". Better or not is subjective.

Another example is pork ribs.

Ang moh BBQ pork ribs and Chinese is different. Even Brazilian got their own style. Japanese. Korean.

Many East Asian BBQ were adapted from the Mongols. Whether Jippun “Genghis Khan” or “Yakiniku” or Korean galbi or Thai Mookata you will see the distinctive helmet shaped grill
