I think 42LW6500, 47LW6500 and 55LW6500 also uses the same main board as the *LW5700, so it could possibly from the same batch of poorly assembled mainboards being assembled on the TV around that time. Unfortnately, it will set you back about ~$400 to get LG to replace the board.

No part is available now.
Its not true that parts are not available. TV in the past are built using rudimentary components which are still available today. In your case, being half screen vertically, it has to do with the vertical deflection unit nor providing enough drive. Send it to the TV repair shop and it can be restored easily.

My friend's Samsung Tv faulty within 1st year. My Sony Tv was the best, i claim my first warrenty within 2 weeks after i got it. Keep cool as nowadays it is common for all brand and it will be bonus if a Tv can last till 5 yrs. That's the reason why i always suggest my friends and relatives to get extended warranty till 5 yrs.

finally sorted it out.

Courts CS gave me bad info

told me only 2 years warranty

LG staff told me its 3 year warranty upon calling back to confirm.

Now asking Courts for the receipt as proof of purchase date to claim warranty for my service appointment on friday.

In sg, you need to keep a copy of the receipt to claim warrenty. It is hard for Courts to check their records unless you are their member. Do u know that Mi Tv has no warranty and no service centre here? If unluckily the tv is faulty after 1 or 2 mths then what can be done? No warranty.

Hi guys have a Samsung 40 inch LED model UA40ES5500M. Was watching TV halfway and display suddenly went off..sounds still working.. it just went out of warranty a week ago so I called Samsung anyway to get it checked..this uncle came and check check a bit after which said it is a panel problem and it'll be expensive to fix...and offered to buy the TV off me for $10 which I find it really ridiculous. .
Somehow have a feeling that the TV could be fixed but he just wanted to rip me off for $10.. any suggestion guys ?
Much appreciated
