A 3D blu ray player BP450 is only $128. Just get one if warranty is over.

I also have an LG TV 47LM6700 that just went dead. No lights at all, not even standby light. From the looks of it, most likely a power / fuse problem.

Can anybody recommend someone I can call to get this fixed / diagnosed?

It can be powerboard or/ and motherboard faulty. It is not going to be cheap to change the powerboard or/ and motherboard. Sometime after several months the problem may come back again then must replace again. It will be best to get a new LG Tv. Now LG has promotion and price is reasonable.

Thanks for the advice. :)

Maybe for the next TV, I should stay away from LG, especially seeing so many of these power board problems coming up.

It is all up to u to decide. Such powerboard issue is quite common. Earlier i had a Sony and motherboard faulty within 1 mth old. I usually get mid range Tv that is cheap and change Tv after it go up lorry after warranty expired.

Hi Henry, do you know how much the powerboard cost, roughly?

Actual price not sure. May be ~$180 for the power board and do not forget still get service charge. Can be another $180 la. Sometime after some time spoilt again or motherboard spoilt.

Hi all,

My Philips TV blackout suddenly few mins later after i turned it on. With many tries of turning it on as well as unplug/plug main power, there were no response from the TV. Noticed that the red standby light was flashing 2 times every 2 seconds.

Suspect it could be mainboard issue as standby light is lit so believe it should not be powerboard issue.

The model of my TV is 47PFL6007H/12 and i would like to know where in SG or which website can i purchase the Mainboard of the above mentioned TV model?

Philips quoted me about $300-400 for a board but also depends on stock availability in SG as my TV is european model.

However, i like to try source the mainboard myself before deciding whether to get Philips to repair.

Thanks for help in advance.

Honestly such part is not available for sales outside. Sometime after change motherboard for some time the powerboard become faulty. It will be better to get a new Tv with 3 yrs warrenty. LG 49UF640T is a 4k UHD Tv only at $1,199 including wall installation etc. Of course other brand also can use.

Hi all

My Panasonic plasma TV (TH42-42PV70H) the screen is flicking now.
From what I read on this thread that is no worth repairing.

Read from other thread (Sony Days 2015),
the Sony KDL-40W700C is a good buy.

Any other than above mention model, what other models or brands
(40-43 inches) priced below $800 to recommend ?

Thanks

Most likely the power board spoilt. If within 3 yrs warranty then you can get LG to repair it or you have purchase extended warranty then call the vendor's extended warranty hotline. If without warranty it will be best to get a new Tv. Nowadays such tv is cheap so it will be better to get a new LG Tv. If the Tv is for your living room it will be better to get at least 49" or bigger if you have the time to watch Tv. For example 49UF640T or other brand also good.
