Only Samsung has the spare part so do call them. I like to watch 3D movies (blu ray) so i also have a LG 3D Tv.

call up samsung service centre, based on my description to them..the customer service said most likely is panel faulty. They mention only able to advise more accurately with onsite check.

Cost is $210 for transport and labor. not including parts. for panel replacement, easily 1k and above for a 55" screen.
the issue is Samsung is unable to advise whether they have any panel part fo rthis model and told me only technician can advise once he check onsite.

my point to them is if they come onsite n confirm its panel issue, but then said no more such parts, then im spending $210 for nothing. At least if they are able to advise they do keep panel part for this model, at least im more willing to pay for the onsite troubleshooting support.

is this the common practice for samsung/lg/sony to carry out onsite check?

Like that may as well get a new Tv. For LG, one can call their spare part department and they can check whether they have the part as long as the model and serial number are given to them. Some Tech will see what is wrong and usually they have the motherboard and powerboard in their van. They can fix it on the spot. Some bring it back. For screen they will take away the Tv to repair.

Only LG has the part so do call LG service centre. See this: http://www.lg.com/sg/support/contact/telephone

Honestly this is a 2011 model so a lot of new features are not available and the size of the TV is really too small to enjoy a good TV show. It will be better to go for a new Tv at least 49" and above.

Hi guys and experts,

I would like to ask what do you guys do with LED TV sets that are not worth repairing.
I have a 40inch Sony LED tv that is about 4 years old and out of warranty and there a black vertical line appeared on the screen. It was a set that was given to me and personally, I feel that it is not worth to repair the set and to get a new set instead.

During Comex can trade in then buy new one. Now comex already over and u already have a new Tv, can only throw to Trash.

k vertical line should be panel faulty. Think not cost effective to repair

Just checking whats the problem and how cost effective to repair a 1 year plus old philips LED TV (40PFA4150). Bought it around 340 last year with lazada, didnt expect it to fail 1 week after the 1 year warranty ended! (yes its a philips but really so bad QC!?!)

Currently, the standby light is on but when I switch on the tv (both via remote or via tv button), there is no image. Initially if i tried to swap hdmi cable, I can get an image after a few tries. Now it just does not display anything, after a while the standby light turns back on.

Is it the power board issue?

Many thanks for advice.

Hi guys,

My new Samsung TV suddenly keeps flashing red, green, blue, grey and white but can hear the sound of the TV channel. Seems to have triggered some burn in mode etc. Any way to sort this out?

Whether is it really so bad QC, you should know it by now. Sometime after replacing the power broad, the motherbroad can become faulty too. Just power broad can cost ~$160 more or less. Some more need to pay tech to go onsite. It is not worth repairing it. Just get a new Tv like LG or Samsung. Pay peanut get peanut.

If you cannot wait, can consider getting the Xiaomi Mi TV 3 55" 4K @ about $1.3K now.

The person already say repairing it. He is 3D Tv. Honestly buying Xiaomi Mi TV is without warranty at all. If like some a bit unlucky person, the Tv spoilt after 3 month then money all gone. Not recommended at all.

obviously it the quality issue since Phillips have move to China.
I also facing the with 47" LED TV. around 6 months of light usage from delivery, the panel got 3 - 4 vertical green lines and tv will auto off and on with distorted image occasional.

got it repair under warranty and the tv fail again (auto off and on with distorted image) after 2 months from warranty date.

Made in China is ok. I think it is the manufacturer QC no good. Lack of supervision from management then their QC workers just any how check or do not care. In future get Samsung or LG Tv.

It is ok la. Heng suay thing. If want Made in Korea then buy LG when it launch new model after April 2016. When it is new just launch then Harvey Norman will have a few Korea set. Of course initial launch is much more expensive.

Between these 2, I prefer eg910t because of its OLED panel. Its contrast and picture are fantastic for me.

If really want to buy OLED Tv why buy 2015 model? May as well go for 2016 model that has HDR and 3D. OLED55C6T is good.
