I just replaced my Samsung TU8000 screen

Just to share the overall experiences :)

So recently i found out my living room TV screen there's no picture but however got sound, called Samsung hotline and make an appointment for the technician to come down.

Btw.. Usually appointment you can book up to 7 days in advance

This morning the technician reached around 940am (as my appt time is 9am-12pm) and after doing a bit of troubleshooting they replace the whole TV screen + the Lcd/Led Display Panel reason is because the TV backlight spoilt.

so thats my experiences :)

total cost $0 as it's still under warranty

Most likely a backlight system issue. Need to open up and test.

Not sure is 39" and 42" use same power board. I have a spare 42" power board taken from my old 42" LG that has a bad LCD panel.

Are you able to take a picture of the power board?

oh god! thanks to this sub-forum

ok so recently my tv has this issue whereby i on the tv got sound but no display???

wtf ?

Use a touch light close enough to LCD screen to see if you can see the picture image. If can, chances is back light problem and still can repair.

TV Repair

I have an LG 55LW5700-TA TV. None of the HDMI inputs work anymore, the all just stopped working last week. Can anyone suggest what has gone wrong, estimate for repair and if possible the contact of a TV repair specialist?

Thanks and Happy CNY

Curved LG OLED TV with 3D capability right? I think I have the same model. Mine is 7yrs old already, and save for one dead pixel which is barely noticeable unless you go near it, it still works perfectly fine.

How old is yours?

Hard to say. Only proper troubleshooting will tell what is actually wrong and whether it is worth fixing. TCON is a likely candidate though, so is the mainboard, scalar PCBs and flex cables.
Think 20 bucks is really cheap considering you dont have any way of checking the rest of the boards. Even if a technition were to check, they would change the obvious and Charge you for it.

Just examine the rest of the connectors and boards for other obvious damage before you buy, you can always RE-SELL the card 😅.

usually you should get your TV checked first, but if your not too worried that you will cause more
damage, just change the main fuse to see if it starts back up.

However, if it's an OLED, I would seriously consider to repair properly.
